Has anyone had borderline dilated common duct after gallbladder removal?

I have been do nauseated, sick feeling throwing up, since gallbladder removal 4 months ago, it won’t stop. no pain just sick. I had endoscopy, blood panels, ct scan, recently and mri showed borderline common bile duct dilatation? im hoping that’s the cause? can’t see my doctor for 3 weeks. but I seriously need hope. if this can be the reason I will be elated. atleast it can be fixed.

Hi Karen
Sorry for the pain you are going through.
When you say you had an endoscopy already, I assume you mean a regular endoscopy that does not go past the sphincter, into the bile duct, called ERCP.
I assume your duct was measured as dilated by the MRCP/MRI scan. More than likely you have a stone in the bile duct and only the ERCP endoscopy can remove it. I’ve spoken about my own situation with this on this forum.
The stuck stone can get infected and fill the duct with pus.

You may want to consider going to the ER in the middle of the night as I did. The doc had wanted me to wait to have the ERCP until the hospitals were more normal. I believe he himself is afraid of covid and was putting the procedure off. I finally couldn’t take the pain anymore and I’m so glad I brought myself to the ER in the dead of night, it was almost deserted and I got taken care of right away. The next day i had the procedure. In two weeks I’ll have the stent removed. If your duct is infected as mine was they will put in a stent to drain the pus. Anyhow it’s just a suggestion if you can’t take the distress anymore don’t wait for the scheduled appointment. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
