I made a mistake in the last message. I was on Mirt for 11 weeks at 7.5 mg.
Ive heard of CITA. They were a great group helping everyone with these types of problems but i have heard they lost funding and are now no longer in existence. If anyone knows better please asvise
Hi Mary,
I understand the CITA Protocol was disbanded 2 years or so ago. The founder passed away and it fell by the wayside. When I was due to start to taper, CITA was the only method and was passed around as the best advice on this forum. However, it is no longer used, the method, at some stage, due to alternating days/doses of Mirt (any AD/Benzo/Z drug etc ~ the method covered them all) was known to cause anxiety and other discontinuatoin problems.
Now folk tend to follow the "no more than 10% taper every month, or 5% every 2 weeks" (I did the latter every 2 weeks). This is possible by making a liquid at home, it's not so difficult once you get your head around the method etc ... takes time I think to be fair.
If you are thinking of starting to taper and want a full informed view, click on my name and follow the links or copy & paste them into your browser. If you need help just reply and i'll see if I can.
Hope this helps a little. Best wishes.
Hi Camer
I am surprised to hear about the CITA protocol. I heard it worked pretty good.
I don't know if I can do the 10% taper every month or 5% every 2 weeks. I live in the US and we don't have the liquid medicine here. I don' know how to do the liquid taper.
I would like your full informed view. I'm not sure I can get it from you the way you described. I will try it and see if it works for me. If it doesn't I will get back to you. I'm not sure I know how to cut and past into the browser.
Thanks so much I'll try this and see if it works.
I'll send you a private message Mary, so look out for it
Looking forward for your private message. I still don't know how to use this liquid method. I also can't fine the way they do this liquid method.
Hi Mary,
Did you receive an e-mail advising you of a private message from me; I see the message hasn't been "read" yet ??
