Has anyone taken cit for ptsd?

I've been living with depression for ever (or does it just see mike that!) and have been taking cit for about 6 months with a real relief from the despair and hopelessness. I'm also suffering from PTSD following a horrible trauma and wondered if anyone has taken cit as an effective treatment for this? Thanks for your help

Ive never been diagnosed with PTSD although i had 3 tours in Vietnam and probably have been living with it for 30 years. Cit had been miraculous with side effects that are bearable

You are not alone I have been taking citalopram 20mg for the last 6 months for PTSD but the first 2/3 weeks it wasn't affective. After almost a month the benefit of it kicked in and all my nightmares vanished, right now I have reduced because I felt a (minor side effects including reduced sex life lol and I am still young). Recently started wining up (10mg for 2/ weeks)I. It doesn't mean that the scary side effects happens the same way to everyone. I think in your case is worth to continue until you feel your symptoms vanishes. All the best

Thank you Safiya. I think that my dr may up mine to 30mgs - not sure how I feel about that
