Has anyone tried ROM therapy?

Just saw new dermatologist and am going to try ROM therapy.

"Monthly rifampicin, ofloxacin, and minocycline therapy for generalized and localized granuloma annulare."

Here's a link to a page discussing ROM.

Hi,

I have had Granuloma Annulare for over 2 years. I have tried ROM therapy and no it didn't work for me although I have read the successes with this therapy. It seems This type of therapy may only work if your GA is triggered by a bacteria of some sort.

I did not have any side effects from the therapy except orange urine for a day and a little burst of energy so go ahead and try it just don't take it before bedtime would be my advice.

With this "last hope" (ROM) not working for me I did start taking plaquenil and after 3 months I noticed my GA fading away. I have now been on it for about 6 months and am experimenting with lowering my dose to 200 mg per day but have begun to notice a little redness starting to reappear in my once flat and faded GA patches.

I hope ROM works for you but if not you can have a DERM inject a small superficial amount of cortisone into the brand new spots and it will stop them in their tracks .... then try plaquenil.

I personally believe this disease is aggravated by stress so try and keep those levels down too.

Good luck,

Julie ~

Thank you for the information. I'll be starting today.

I have sent his before, but I so far to totally control GA ...I use a half and half Tea Tree Essential Oil and Calendula GEL...I mix together to form a bonding agent..use it regularly on any immediate spots starting..I sometimes apply 20 times a day as i keep a vial w me always in my pocket.

I add extra TT Oil if it gets out of control..but nothing works for me like this does..My Dermatologist is amazed
