I started to get black eyes more so around my left eye than right informed my Doc & went to have a MRI to check for vein clots in my brain all come back good results. Has anyone els had this happen?
Hi, A couple of weeks ago I had a eye infection, started like a sty yet in the mornings my right eye was completely closed, puffy and weeping . The swelling went down during the day but i did suffer from blurred vision. The infection has now gone but I have been left with two black eyes, my right darker than my left.
Oh yes, spontaneous bruising, at one time it began to feel as if I taken it up as a hobby! Woke up one morning with a black eye and after two days the left side of my face joined in. By sheer coincidence I had a Rheumy appointment the following day, she took one look at me and I was admitted to hospital straight from the clinic.
At the time I was stuck on 17.5mg Pred so I was put on a supervised fast -ish reduction plan, after a week down to 12.5mg and then I was allowed home. Just as well as we were moving house the following Thursday.
I've had a few more incidences since but nothing like as bad and as I am now on a lowish dose, hopefully I won't have any more.
Hi, I would have thought they would have put your dose up not down if you were having trouble with GCA ? Interested as I also have both. I'm on 35mg now and hope to go down again soon, was on 40mg. cheers
It wasn't to do with GCA, which I have got, it was a reaction to Pred. That was why I was hospitalized, so that I could be given a supervised fast reduction - supervised to prevent any other possible reactions/side effects/problems.
Spontaneous bruising is on the list of side effects on the leaflet in the Pred box.
