So heres my long drawn out story. (I female 36)had sex with a guy I knew 3 weeks ago..before that it had been 4 months. Stupidly he convinced me we didnt need a condom!!. Fast forward a few days I get a yeast infection, ive had quite a few in the past. This lasted about aweek and a bit then went away. 20 days after that guy i find a small lump under the skin just inside my labia majora..i immediately freak out and start squeezing and checking it constantly untill it became tender..no fluid or pus in it. I then noticed 3 lumps in the pubic hair area right on the mons pubis. I squeezed these untill they bled a little. They became very painful. I went to a private clinic and took an instant blood Igg test..showed positive for hs1 which i have orally since childhood and negative for hs2..too early for this incident i know but shows its not an old infection. The nurse told me leave the area heal. Didnt check them. I tried teatree oil and salt baths not much changed. They have a yellow film almost are are finally healing i think. I am realy hoping it could still be folliculitis or that all my squeezing infected them. The original small under skin lump has never changed not blistered or scabbed. However tonight my genital area is burning slightly. So is that normal an outbreak after 20 days not realy on the genital area..and then also would prdrome syptoms start in a different area whiles possible herpes sores are still healing on first area. No fever pain peeing or anything like that. Where im from there is no awareness of this it was a struggle to find a clinic to test and was exspensive. Now i have to either wait 4 months for a blood test or another outbreak to swab. Brief history i have a habit of becoming obessed with certain stds. Burning irritation has happened to me a few times before and negative hs2 igg tests months after. Never sores though. Am still praying it was ingrown hairs i agravated! But theres the burning feeling on vagina. I know if i go to gum clinic with bruning and nothing else they will say its not herpes! Have been a few times before. They dont do bloodthere.
Trust me i understand the pain of having to wait to be tested. I went through a whole lots of tramatizing emotional pain that I've kept to myself.
My first test was 5 weeks after that 10.5 weeks, 13 weeks and 18 weeks all negative for hsv2. I tested positive for hsv1 at 5 weeks but my doc says its an old infection because my index was 3.5.
I'm still having issues and therefore I will retest at 26 weeks/6 months hor hsv2.
But if i knew then what i know now i would have saved myself some stress and be patient with the process. Friday the 11th will make 6 months, at the beginning of this mayhem i could not imagine myself at this date.
So just hold on, take care of yourself and you will get through it. Find things to keep you occupied and do your best to take your mind off of it.
