I have had ibs like symptoms for several years now..... on and off....4-5 years ... but now i had flu like symptoms a month ago... doc prescribed me with 500 mg antibiotics cefuroxime and nimica 500 for fever.. i had mild symptoms ... but now i hav more gas and sometimes it wakes me up from sleep in the morning .... i had rectal bleeding only 2 or 3 drops of blood with anal pain twice ..... testicular pain but goes away after passing gas... this is really affecting my social life.... had CBC done everything is fine only rbc were a little elevated and hb was 16.2... UG was fine showed fatty liver... gastroentrologist says i have gerd and lpr.... i fear and wish i dont have colon cancer or anything serious ...... and my latest doc says it is colitis caused by excesive antibiotics.... i do have anxiety problem
It's not a bad thing to rule out anything serious. Did your CBC include vitamins? If you're not absorbing enough nutrition from your food, you're not going to feel well, period. That could be from IBS or something else, like Coeliac Disease.
If you're a "normal, healthy" person who gets an infection (anywhere) and takes antibiotics, you've just changed the balance of good and bad gut bacteria. If you took your antibiotics without taking a probiotic, you'll have gut issues and that sounds like what may have happened in your case. As I said, even without IBS like issues, this could happen. (My boys didn't have many problems like ear infections or strep throat but we noticed when they did and were on antibiotics, they'd have problems - my sister in law is a pharmacist and SHE's the one who told us, not our doctors!)
Acute infection in the small intestines or chronic like you're describing can also damage the villi to some extent and you may have temporary problems digesting lactose and that could cause more gas as well. Coeliac causes far more damage and can cause much of what you're experiencing.
If probiotics don't get you well, see if your doc can do more testing until you have the right answer/s for you.

what could have caused the bleeding ?
Oh, I'd guessed that it was from difficult poo...like haemorrhoids or a tear in that area (anal fissure). If it's drops of blood, it's fresh, so it didn't seem like it came from inside the intestines. But, drops of blood doesn't mean cancer. It could be a sign, but I think it's far more likely to be from a nuisance type of cause than a serious illness.
Your dr. will be able to tell you either from an exam or from a scope, if a colonoscopy is needed.
