Have been taking Parmid XL for 4 days

How long does it usually take for Parmid XL 2.5mgs to have an effect on reducing my BP.

Have been having some dizziness and tiredness which I understand should ease up.

I have been taking amlodipine for 6months now and seem to have just got used to them and the side effects.  I think your bp should lower quite quickly after starting taking them. Perhaps you need to have a visit to the GP and ask a few questions

Hi Peter. Not on Parmid myself but understand from other users that these side effects are not uncommon.

What are your bp readings Peter? Is this the first medication you have tried to lower bp?

I have found great support and information on this forum. One of the things we are all striving for is to get off the drugs or at least try to reduce doseage. If you read the various threads you will see that a combination of weight loss, exercise and diet appear to help.

Do read the other threads and if you want to contribute to this ongoing debate that would be great.

Meanwhile, Seasons Greetings!

Good morning Fisherman,

Have been on 10 mg of Ramapril for a while but as my BP rose recently the Doc put me on 2.5mg of Parmid 5 days ago.

My average BP readings taken at home have been 148/95.Spoke to the doc and he did say to try and tough it out to see if the side effects eased.
