three weeks post op went with hubby to a very posh garden centre for a wander round. Crutches in hand and off we went in the sunshine great to be out in the fresh air for a proper walk.
as we went into this very large greenhouse where they had tons of plants Brian is looking at the toms and cucumbers peppers ect.
as I walked passed he shouted lynn what are these mange tout I said what he shouted it again I almost dropped my crutches with laughing... I went back and said Brian it's French mangetout it's peas posh peas you say it in French.he said it says mange tout by then I had almost dropped to the floor crying so much ... The lady came over and Brian said how do you pronounce this she said in a French accent mangetout but some people say mange tout ...by then all the people were killing themselves laughing as we are scousers it sounded so funny saying mange tout .best day in three weeks I am so glad I went out it felt great to get out and enjoy the sun hope this gives you all a laugh it did me
Can't beat a bit of sun and some dodgy french to make it a happy day.
Well done maybe a glass of something medicinal and chilled for you later ??
I still non alcohol as on antibiotics for a rotten cough but in 5 days will be up in Liverpool for a break so a pint in the cavern will be the order of the day
Glad to hear you are doing so well keep it up :-)
Hi Lynn
Really pleased to hear you had such a good day!
I'm three weeks post op on Thursday and today was the first time I've managed to get into the car and go to my first physio session. I was supposed to go last Friday but had to cry off as I couldn't bend my new knee enough to get in the car!
I'm now shattered but feel a real sense of achievement over what is an everyday occurrence.
Hopefully getting out again tomorrow.
This is to give thanks to everyone on here who's help and encouragement have meant so much to me and to tell people starting out that it will get better and there are other people who've been through it too.
Best wishes
Kevin

Your good news is heart warming - well done, and long may it continue.
That's brilliant. I'm still struggling to stay out for long but did manage a walk around the street today in the sunshine. It definitely helps....laughing is the best medicine though (can't you tell I haven't drank for a while and forgotten how good wine tastes ;-) hopefully I'll be off the painkillers soon).
Oh Kathryn I sure laughed today got my ice pack on now tho but little walks are great till you can start the longer ones when leg is stronger
