Hello everyone!
To cut a long story short, I play video games. This one video game (Overwatch) use to cause me no end to troubles (mainly because it is a First person shooter type, that coupled with how entrenched team work is intended for its game design).
Anyways, after playing it for a year and getting really worked up over it (being targeted by the opposing team members) I started to develop symptoms. These symptoms were basically a feeling of something being lodged in my throat. After doing many hours worth of research, I came to the conclusion that it had to be Globus Hystericus. Everything matched from the sensation of choking to the feeling of having something move around my inside my throat. That was about a year ago.
Every time I would stop playing Overwatch, there’d be a week or two and then the symptoms would go away. Then for different reasons, I’d start playing said game again, and after a number of days to weeks, the symptoms would come back… To me that suggested there was an anxiety/stress related problem.
Now, after not playing it for a number of weeks, a new symptom has appeared. This is more than likely because of the Globus Hystericus which I normally get lasting much longer than usual due to the fact that I got myself worked up over starting a one day job last month. The week leading up to it had my throat feeling choked like crazy… The Globus Hystericus stayed around, even now it’s still with me, just not too bad. But this new symptom isn’t good, it’s another physical one. Basically, after taking a nap in the sun the other day, I woke up hot, went to the bathroom to cool down with some water and noticed in my mirror that my arteries around my throat have been visually pulsating. It’s been worrying me greatly as they are still doing so and I’ve read things suggesting that it’s a heart problem (I shouldn’t be reading too much into it all as I am also a Hypochondriac).
So now I’ve basically worked myself into a pair of anxiety attacks over the past couples of days (headaches, light headed, weakness which compounds the problem more so due to those also being symptoms of heart issues… That and I have anemia as in the Summer I tend to get light-headed by standing up sometimes.
Even though having a heart problem could be possible, logically speaking I feel that I am unlikely to have any issues for many different reasons such as the last time I went to hospital, the doctors didn’t notify me of any heart issues (2 years ago), no family history, hardly any cholesterol in my diet, I don’t smoke, I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t think I have diabetes, I move around often throughout the day. ect
Another strange thing about these symptoms is that when I noticed the bounding pulse, I also noticed that the Globus Hystericus had greatly weakened. Still have it, but much weaker…
So I pose the question, possible heart issue or continued/worsened anxiety?
And sorry, this really did go for much longer than I expected, I tend to dribble on when I’m worried…
Thank you for reading.
