Have had trouble opening eye lids since cataract surgery on the left eye

I am 61, I have had cataract surgery on my left eye six months ago. Ever since, I have had trouble opening my eye lids when I wake up in the morning. Initially, I did better with artificial tears. However, even with the application of artificial tears twice a day, gradually, I am having more difficulty opening the eye lids.

Sounds like you may have dropping eyelid (ptosis) which they say happens in about 10% of cataract surgery. Most of the time it goes away on it’s own in about 6 months. If it persists there is a procedure to fix it).

Best see your doc for a diagnosis.
