Have I got ibs?

Hello I'm Lukas I'm 21 I've been really bloated, constipated and had dull pain in stomach for the last month and recently just starting in my back, at first doctor thought it was constipation so she gave me laxido which didn't work then I went to another dr which said I've got the symptoms of ibs but she's not diagnosing me with and gave me mebeverine, also a bit of anxiety I don't no what to think?

Your symptoms sound like IBS especially with the anxiety. I think it strange that she says you have IBS symptoms but cannot commit herself to an IBS diagnosis since she has given you an anti spasmodic which is for IBS. I would go back to your doctor and ask for tests to rule out other causes.  If Mebeverine doesn't work you can always try Buscopan.  I was given Mebeverine but it upset my stomach.

Oh no that's not good, she said I haven't had it long enough after 3 months she will and oh no can I expect the paint to start getting worse thanks for replying

Anxiety makes everything a lot worse.  I have a very ill relative so I have not been here much and my stress levels are very high and as a result my illness has been much more frequent.  Staying with family this is not good.

Apart from the back your symptoms sound like mine.

I have recently undertaken some part time work too.  This is something I have been unable to do due to illness but with eveything going on in my private life I may have to stop working again.  I am unsure yet but I can not give full focus when focus 160 miles away.

My advice try to understand anxiety more.  I did not and regret. I started looking at mindfulness, something I used to think was only for hippies, but then I was asked if I wanted to work a few days a week and with everything else going on I had to give it up as I could not commit to being there at a certain time each week.

I was diagnosed with IBS after three and a half months.  My pain got better after diagnosis because I had stopped panicking.  Pain can come and go depending on what has triggered it.  Sometimes it is food or stress.  My pain is constant but mild and is triggered by stress.  Everyone is different and responds to treatment differently.

I agree with this and especially the stress.

Ok thanks for replying I'll go back ant asked for more test at the doctors

Thanks for replying

Drink pepermint tea after eating and avoid alcohol, cafeinn, process food. Try to do exercise more and keep eating healthy and relaxation technique will help with IBS. good luck

Good luck.

I have also found camomile to be effective too.

Not a problem.  People helped me when I first came here so the least I can do is attempt to reciprocate.

Definitely
