Hi I was diagnosed in August this year by the hospital. And need to take bethahistine 3times a day (6 tablets)
I was self diagnosing that i had labarythitis as I have had thus for many years.
I went to the doctors with continuous mussey head, dizziness, feeling sick, blurred vision. As this went on continuously over the winter months.
I then was diagnosed with meniers... Since then we have found out that our boiler was not properly Installed and neither flues were sealed....
Is it possible that I had carbon monoxide poisoning and do not have meniers???
I forgot to mention that I do not suffer with tinnitus or headaches..and have no ear or hearing problems
I must admit, your symptoms sound like Menieres, but it usually doesn't last continuously for months. It usually comes and goes in spates. I've had menieres for 2 years now, but have got progressively worsening hearing on one side, to the point I am nearly deaf in that ear, with continuous tinnitus. Without these two common side effects of menieres, I would question their diagnosis
Hi thanks for your reply
I went back to the consultant at the hospital in Jan this year and he said that he would not go back on his diagnosis
I asked if it was possible that an overlap had occurred with the symptoms being so very similar and that I did not have any tinnitus, hearing issues or headaches..
He commented that I may have been questioning his diagnosis..and I said I was..
think I needs second opinion
I would get a second opinion too. It may well be menieres but you'd be the first person I know without the hearing loss or tinnitus. I know menieres can be mistaken for other illnesses with similar symptoms, but it's these two that usually pinpoint it. That's what I was told anyway. Good luck with your second opinion
