Have i overdone it

all week i have had aches and pain in my forehead and right temple, told the doctor and she said we will do some tests, then she examined my head  for tenderness, but there was none, she said keep a diary. So yesterday got up , went shopping, came home had lunch, an hour later we went into car drove to the greenway, then walked about one half to two miles, sat outside the pub for about nearly two hours, drank tea me!, caught the bus back to the car then home, rested for an hour then thats when it started my right temple began to ache like hell, my shoulders were swollen as well. this went on all the time we  were out, and earache started but nor for long, my the time i went to bed it seem not as bad, woke up during the night with slight earache, then slept till 8 this morning.

I dont feel 100% this morning. So that has taught me a lesson, dont get cocky because bloods ok, and i supposednot to over do it, but i am keeping a diary for the doctor, sorry for moaning as i know some off you ladies are worse than me. Hope you all have a good day. Mags

Methinks you may have overdone it!!

Shouldnt your GP be more cautious. Pain in the temple and forhead could mean GCA. If it continues go back and make sure your GP understands the implications.

REST Margaret! We can only tell you.

That was some day out - most of us would have struggled in the early stages.

When we are feeling "well" after feeling lousy for a bit I think we want to get out there and do it all.  Those are the times we need to remind ourselves to keep it slow and easy.

Have a nice relaxing day today and you'll likely feel much better.

Hugs, Diana🌸

I too Margaret have overdone it!!!! Feeling good at home just 'mooching' around the house as I call it! Thinking maybe fit enough to return to work soon (PMR on 20mg pred but having a physical job walking and standing for 8hr shift) however came away on holiday to so called relax in Brussels and I'm almost back to square one with fatigue and achy muscles!!!! Suddenly realise that I'm not well and give in to the fact I need more time xxxx

There is a MASSIVE difference between being at home and being at work! People often feel fine in hospital and wonder why the doctor won't let them home - it's because we underestimate the effort required "just" making cups of tea and getting a meal for ourselves. Never mind doing a job - even the concentration required is enough to tire you out.

Mind you  - I'm on Lake Garda, that's relaxing! I can't quite envisage what is relaxing about Brussels, lovely though it is!

thank you

thank you too

yes i am learning

Thank you Eileen,, with the pred only keeping the inflammation down, I was dull enough to think the condition itself was under control, but obviously not!! I'm in Brussels with my 12 year old Son, I thought I might be relaxing,,, but hay hoe, he's back in school on Monday and I can sleep then!!!! But that's not how it works is it? 😄 xx

Unfortunately not - though having a good rest before a single event can make a massive difference to how you survive it! No - the pred deals with the symptoms, not the cause - but at least it does something!

But school holidays plus 12 year old son isn't restful anyway!
