I was examining my labia and realized I can’t see my vaginal opening?? i know it’s there towards the bottom but i just want to make sure and not overreact by making an appt with my gyn. also the folds towards the top- i thought they were cuts but i really don’t think they are anymore… is this all normal or is it a hymen issue (I haven’t had sex yet)?

hi, everything looks normal. your folds at the top is also normal . Your vagina opening is at the bottom so if you want to examine your self in that area you will need to spread your labia more towards the bottom at the opening. If you have not had sex or any type of vaginal penetration (masturbation) the hymen may still be intact and will not be able to see much of an opening. Probably just a small hole for when your period flows from if that makes sense.

Everything is normal, no need to worry.
There’s some smegma building up underneath your clitoral hood. When you shower, make sure to wash between the folds of your vulva and underneath the clitoral hood. If enough smegma accumulates, it can cause clitoral adhesions. Other than that, your vagina looks normal.
