Dr changed mmeds from citalopram to mirtazapine and I had been feeling really good on them and sleeping really well too. Howeverthe past few days my anxiety has come back and worry that the meds have stopped working. Can anyone offer reassurance that this is normal please.
Anxiety seems to get worse for a while when starting an antidepressant. Although you're switching from one to another, you still may have to go through the beginning side effects as your body adjusts. If it gets too bad, definitely call the doctor.
Hi Aileen, you dont say how long since the switch was made..could be withdrawel from citalopram, Hang in there and see what happens, mayby you need a higher dose of Mirt..just listen to your body and you will work it out...Take care xx
It is completely normal when changing anti-depressants to feel like this.
You may need a higher dose of mirtazapine, and you must remember that all anti-depressants need a good six weeks to kick in.
