Esperando algum feedback positivo após sair do THR na sexta-feira?

Hi Tom, I'm 4.5 weeks THR and walking 5000 steps a day. My knee pain and backpain have gone! I go back to work next week and there is little that I can't do, except the low stuff. Pain relief paracetamol (with codeine at night).  I did try too hard at first and would certainly agree with the hours rest in the afternoon. Our unusually hot weather hasn't helped with sleeping, but it has encouraged the walking! I'm in uk and my treatment and surgeon has been brilliant.

Wow that sounds amazing...I'm really pleased everything has gone so well 4 you...would be well pleased if I got a result like that 😊 I know what you mean about the weather, seems we moan if it's cold & more so now it's so hot & uncomfortable, don't really sleep 2 well @ the mnt anyway as I just can't get in the right position & I've just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right shoulder as well, had my MRI scan last week so just waiting on the results to find out where we go with this 1? Only thing I'm worried about after my op is using the crutches as my right shoulder won't be able to bear my weight on that side? Apart from that it's all good though lol, enjoy reading all these posotive comments, thanx again ☺

Fingers x'd 4 you either way 😉 keep us all updated, not sure why but getting really nervous as Friday gets closer? Never feel like this b4 an op so not sure whats going on??

hi hope, do you know were i can find Ians blog he did of his recouperation please

Hi Patricis, not sure what time your getting done, or of the time difference. Just to let you know I'm thinking of you.  Lots of love Maggie xxxxxx

Hey Lynne, how u doing today ? Hopefully a little better than yesterday. Just try to remember everyday you are growing a little stronger and things will become a little easier. Just think a couple of months down the line and things will be so much better. Keep your chin up. Lots of love and extra hugs. Maggie xxxxxx

hi maggie, i am alot brighter thank you, i dont feel sick anymore, had a good PT session, walking like right arm left leg with crutches, then did a couple of steps without, she tgen put me on this bed and lifter my operated leg up and i di knee curls, the stood on this foam thing and held onto the wall and stood on me toes.  we also had a good discussion on dislocation, which made me feel better.  So hear in Rehab i see the PT everyday, she is going to show me how to sleep on my side.  Although I slept for 7 hours last night, but only 1-1/2 the night before, but feel I am doing ok, takin paracetamol 1, 1000 mg tds and 1 diclofenic twice a day. and i do rest alot hope that I am doing the right thing, she said the excersises have to be done in three lots of ten and build them up.  How are you? thank you for all your advice, its nice to have someone we can talk to, big hugs xx

patricis, Hope your doing well, have been thinking of you and praying for strength for you sweetie, wont rest until we hear from you. big hugs xx Lynn

Hi Lynn, good to hear ur feeling better & on the mend 😊 early days so don't push urself 2 hard, I think u have 2 go with what ur body tells u as u go thru all this? Keep up the good work & fingers x'd u'll be home soon, take care 😉

Tom, I'm home and on the mend...no issues to complain about..it is funny about human nature, but prior to surgery I could not stay off this site..it was my lifeline, hearing people suffer anxiety pre op,like me and hearing those on the other side of surgery...and now before you know it my turn has come and gone...but truly you never forget the anxiety and fear and so when people write in about their pre op fear, we can give support based on first hand knowledge and I think that help...will be thinking about you and looking forward to your first post.....just a minute I'm writing this Tom and see the date, I had my surgery on Tuesday the 29th, so that means you had your on Friday, when I came home!!!  HOPE all went well, Patricia

Hi Patricia, I'm so pleased it's all gone so well 4 u & ur on the road to recovery 😄 ur spot on in what u say about people sharing their experiences & knowledge on a site like this, pleased 2 say it all went really well 4 me & wasn't half as bad as I was expecting in the end, got a huge amount of swelling & sore butt cheek but still not the amount of pain I thought I would experience, always a bonus in my eyes when ur pain is only half of what u thought u were going 2 have 2 endure 😄 hope ur road 2 recovery is a steady & (sort of pain free) journey 4 u? Take care Patricia & keep well 😄😄

Hi Tom

Just writing to ask how you are getting on.

I hope you are resting and not giving your wife to much running around to do.

Still no news on mine yet. Got up this morning wanting to cut both legs off to stop the pain.

How is your pain now?

Jane

Hi hope he has posted it on his forum on FB, I dont know how you would find it on here, but if you do will you let me know please.  Hope your ok chick xx

Hi Jane, it all seems 2 be going quite good at this end so far, I'm 5 days post op & the pains no where near what I was expecting after my knee problems 😄 I haven't been able 2 sleep 4 more than about an hour at a time tho as I just can't comfortable due to the fact I always sleep on my right side as opposed to laying on my back, I'm sure I'll work something out as I go along? I'm so sorry to hear ur in so much pain but I understand what ur saying about chopping the legs off, I've felt exactly the same in the past & the wait always seems 2 be so much longer when ur at ur most desperate due to the pain, the only thing u can do is hang in there as best u can & when u get ur date 4 surgery u will see a light at the end of the tunnel, I hope & pray 4 u that it comes thru soon, all I can say is it'll be worth the wait, keep strong Jane & please let me know as soon as u hear, take care 😉

Hi Tom,

Just thought I would pop in and see how you were doing.

Hope you are recovering well.

Jane

Hi Jane, all seems 2 b going pretty good @ this end thanx? Had very little pain so far but must admit while I was doing my excercises y/day I felt a really sharp stabbing pain in my groin, I've eased up a bit with lifting the knee up @ the front as this is what caused the pain in the 1st place, just hoping I haven't torn my tendon as that's exactly what I did after my left 2nd left TKR? Seems I should follow my own advice & not get 2 carried away with the excercise routine, thing is it's harder when u haven't got the pain 2 let u know when 2 stop overdoing things (I think I know now tho?) fizios not due out til next Monday so just gonna slow down 4 a bit & hope it's nothing serious? How's things ur end Jane, hope ur coping ok? 😉

Hope you haven't torn anything. Glad to hear things are going well. All quiet this end. No phone calls as yet about hip. They haven't replied to email or message I left on the answer phone. So waiting game still. What I wouldn't give to be pain free and undisturbed sleep of a night right now. Keep me updated on your progress.😊
