Having LTHR on 14th Feb

My LTHR is just over a week away on 14th Feb and I'm feeling very nervous. I just wanted to thank everyone for sharing their experiences as it def helps 😊

Best of luck. We will all be here if you have questions after your op. 😃

We were all nervous before the big day - totally understandable.  Just remember there will always be someone here to help you whenever you want it.  That's the great thing about this forum.  I don't know where I'd have been without it.

Best wishes

Graham

Good luck!! I'm right behind you on the 20th. Hope everything goes smoothly for you!

Sam

We are all nervous before surgery. I am 48 hours post op and glad to be on the other side. I know the surgery pain will eventually cease and I both longer have that constant pain for the osteoarthritis. Best of luck to you!

Good luck it will all be worth it i promise.

Hi lindy

On Monday l will have had my new hip for 3 weeks. I do my exercises every 2 hours and do my timed walks. I feel so good, the only thing l can't get used to is sleeping on my back....but that is such a small thing, especially as l feel so good. My other hip is just the problem now. We knew they were both bad but the left is now almost as bad as the other before replacement.Keep you chin up you will be fine.xxx

It's true

We were all nervous. Best of luck.

Wishing you all the best!

Speak for yourself  I was so keen to get in there, I couldn't wait for mine!

This is one of the safest and most successful surgeries going. The odds are in your favour that you will be dancing around the house in a few weeks! No need to be nervous - I'm sure you will be in great hands and will be on the road to recovery in no time.

You will do GREAT !

I had my 2nd THR at the end of July, I was back playing various sports at the 3 month mark post surgery.

Just do your exercises & follow doctors orders !!!  As others have said this surgery is very common and major problems are very rare.

Thank you Barbara I'm sure I will have lots of questions lol

Yes this is a fabulous forum - I can see everyone is so supportive of each other.

How long ago did you have yours beth and how did it all go afterwards

Good luck to you also Samantha. We won't know ourselves once it is all healed.

Thankyou kel. I've forgotten how it feels to walk normally! I'm looking forward to walking without that horrible limp and being able to stride along with my grandchildren lol

Thank you for the encouragement. Great to hear you are going so well but sorry to hear your other hip is so bad. My other hip is going as well but not bothering me much   thank goodness so will have some time before that needs doing. That must be hard having to cope with getting over one op and having to still deal with the pain of the other hip. I'm not looking forward to the sleeping on your back thing either as I am a terrible sleeper at the best of times. I think this forum and tv will get a bit of a workout from me over the next few weeks lol.
