Hi gang
As we are always comparing symptoms I just wondered if anyone has problems with burning hands?
This is a newby for me - I've had the pins and needles that a lot of us suffer from, but this has now turned into a hot, burning sensation and is really unpleasant. It's almost as if someone has peeled a layer of skin off my hands and they are now grazed and sore
They don't look any different though. :?
Maybe it's just me!!
Katie
No I haven't had that one Katie but it sounds as though it could all be to do with nerve sensations.
I get it in my neck though, I have it now, as though my neck is sunburnt but it is not.
I sometimes get that on my thighs, it's like someone has put hot coals on you. :tomato: :steam:

How Spooky Katie :ghost:
I have had REALLY bad pins and needles?????????? They are so bad that they hurt! I have tried rubbing my hands and that didnt help. It was almost like a semi paralysis feeling too.
Me and you seem to syncronise at times including our electrical shocks  buzz

P.S Lets hope your sleep doesnt get affected
That's really weird Donna. Your description fits mine exactly - painful, crawling pins and needles and numbness - has only happened fairly recently.
Never a dull moment with this illness
Still having shocking moments too  so have had to invest in another pair of Marigolds (pink this time) to carry with me at all times.
Have a good week everyone ............
PS. Everytime I type Donna, it comes out as Doona
Alicia, that has been happening to me lately, feeling as if I have had too much sun on my neck and shoulders! :star: A warm feeling, how strange. This was before the sun we have been having this weekend
No pins and needles though. My hands are always cold, but thats cos I have a warm heart
Sometimes I get a tight crawling sensation on the side of my face
I could just be a hypochondriac too ....

The hot burning sensation on the neck and shoulders is typical of the old fibromyalgia  - mine's really awful at the moment (but have been trying to cut down on the anti-depressants for pain relief) - but plan to up the dosage again as obviously not a good idea
I'm sure they are what is making me gain weight as well as the lack of exercise (nothing to do with the chocs ices that I have recently become addicted to  )
Doona, I mean Donna (or maybe even Angela!) probably our hand problem is just an extension of the fibromyalgia
Oh, what a pain it all is

Sometimes I get a tight crawling sensation on the side of my face
Could just be a drunken spider making its way up your cheek
Katie
I have only just started with the pins and needles and only had a couple of episodes of it but by heck it hurts!
As for the shocks they seems to stop for a while but have started again!
The heat we have been talking about is more obvious right now on my neck. YEP its red raw from the sun yesterday - ouch

Katie, please dont be telling me I have Fibromyalgia!!
I do have a lot of the symptoms but am in denial at the moment!! :?
There was a case in the weekend papers about an insurance fraud and Fibromyalgia. Apparently criminal criminal (sic) injury lawyers tell car crash victims to say the trauma has triggered it off cos it cant be proved one way or the other  Helps increase the compo
Dont help the image of the people who really do have it eh?! :steam:

Oh, great that's all we need. I suppose they'll be telling them to make out they've got ME next - so they can pretend they have brain fog and conveniently forget things :steam:
I was just having a think (exhausted now!) - am I mistaken or do all of us suffer from fibromyalgia as well (well, not Dale, of course  )
'Cos that's actually quite a high percentage. Out of fifteen of us on my recent ME course, only three of us had fibro. as well - we were the ones fidgeting throughout the whole session 'cos we were so uncomfortable
Maybe, we all have fibro, cos of all the rubbish we have been typing these days
Have to laugh, otherwise I would
It's probably down to the long and lonely hours we sit hunched over our keyboards, it being the only social life left to us.
Exactly, but I am prepared to put up with the pain rather than quit my laptop.
We have all certainly been out in force today - a record number of postings I would think :thepost:
Back to the hand thing, Donna ..... mine are absolutely driving me round the bend today - it's just like someone sticking thousands of hot pins in them - I almost want to chop them off :yuk:
Maybe, I have an allergy to the pink Marigolds :weird: that really is serious
Hi, I am having the usual pins and needles, but now my fingers are going numb, This happens more at night and only adds to the sleeplessness.

sharing our highs and lows is what keeps us from going mad with pain and boredom and isolation. :weird:
You can always be assured of someone to listen

Hi there Radar Man
Great to hear from you - we are always hoping to increase our male contributors - some of them don't last very long ..... not quite sure why, we girls may be a bit daft at times, but we are quite harmless
My pins and needles and numbness has improved slightly, but like you worsens during the evening and night (even have problems picking up my wine glass sometimes  )
Hope to hear from you again
