having to drop from 40mgs to 20mgs :(

hey hello everybody, new and old! read some very positive stuff here and there which is very encouraging but my own saga continues to evolve and not neccessarily for the better I fear. has anybody else encountered liver problems whilst on the fluoxetine? I'm not saying they are the cause but they can be a contributing factor apparently. my doctor rang me at home today regarding blood tests taken on Friday and for the second fornight in succession this liver function test has worsened, so she asked me to drop from 40 to 20mgs as of tomorrow, bloods in a fortnight, and an ultrasound of my liver asap. never rains but it bloody pours! anyway nowt I can do except wait, moan, and pray

How are u feeling was not good after the 40mg? Sorry to hear about your results. We just have to trust our doctors don't we. Xx

Bless you david! And youd begun to feel so much better. :-(

Didn't know it could affect your liver although theres so many possible side effects its hard to see the wood for the trees. Hope ot is just the flu n nothing more permanent for you.

Take care of yourself

hiya rachel, too be honest I was feeling pretty damn good on the 40mgs! just this routine blood testing has shown liver problems so I guess it's a process of elimination etc, hopefully know more after the ultrasound thingymajig  xx

hey hello vix   well it's early days in the process of finding the cause of this liver problem, I was'nt aware of it until a routine blood test highlighted it, then 2 weeks later next bloods showed another rise, so hoping this ultrasound will shed light on it and let me get back to normal, inverted commas shoulda been on that haha! bless ya, caio for now

Sending love and luck x

Really sorry to hear this David.

I hope you find something that suits you as much as the Flu without the damage.

Good luck!

Hi David

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that!  Do you have to drop immediately to 20mg or are you able to do it gradually?  Hope it goes ok, and hope your liver test turns out ok too.

Big hugs
