Hi finally had my consultants appts through. My first op on 21.12.2015 which failed as there was a 5cm fibroid in the way? They couldnt removed i have no idea.
I was a prime candiate for a total hysto but now i am high risk due to my weight and having previous cesearians? (my last one was 15 years ago)
so now i have to repeat of the first op where my surgeon will remove part of the fibroids and then a 2nd op to finish off the job. I am worried that having part of the fibroids remove and leaving some of it - if they start to detoriate will they start to smell? (sorry about this) by i am having some discharge which isnt nice already which she didnt take on board.
Anyone else had this op and experience 'side effects' of leaving half an fibroid in?
cheers all xx
i had a failed myomectomy as the fibroids were so embedded into the uterus, i was bleeding out as they tried to remove. They have refused to to do another myomectomy as they are so stuck in there, so only option is a hysto. If they surgeon thinks this op will work you just have to trust his decision. Would you consider having a hysto.
Hi Briggsy could they not do a subtotal hysterectomy instead ( womb only) don't know if it's any less risky for yourself may be worth asking. Another option is Uterine Fibroid Embolisation. Hope you get a solution soon
Hi, that all sounds very unsatisfactory for you, I guess they would leave the fibroids intact that they can't remove the first time rather than half a fibroid? Sounds rather strange, also that they can do these 3 ops but you wouldn't be suitable for a hysterectomy.
