head rush and palpitations when i am about to sleep

hi everyone,

any one ever felt like this?

i have been having a head rush and palpitations just when i am about to sleep. i also feel like choking or that there's something stuck in my throat. i haven't been feeling this for a while when my boyfriend lies with me in bed. i think it makes me feel better that there's someone looking out for me while sleeping, but he has to work far so i have to endure sleeping alone. i felt okay for a few days, but last night was really terrible, i wasn't able to sleep until six in the morning and i have to be at work before 9 am. i started having head rush just when i am about to close my eyes and my heart was beating too fast. a little later i started feeling a sharp pain at my right shoulder and upper back every time i breathe. but the pain fades when i sit. which was the reason i had no sleep at all because it's painful to breathe when i lie down. i hope i earn enough money for me to take that stress test my doctor suggested, there was nothing wrong with my ECG and 2decho, my cholesterol level dropped (thank God!), which was the reason why he suggested the stress test.

I just hope that i'd be able to sleep tonight.

Hi Faith re the comment you made re you feeling like you are choking or there is something in your throat...

Get it checked at docs but as you are an anxiety sufferer (same) it will most probably be 'Globus' or pharyngeal spasm...

Took me a long time and a lot of severe anxiety to get to that diagnosis from two different consultants so I hope this reply will save you time and worry.

I did posts about it 7 years ago...

Thanks for that, I really have to see my doctor as soon as i take the stress test. And i will definitely ask him re globus, ive read that post youve made seven years ago, and just like you this forum has helped me lot in dealing with my anxiety, there are just times when the episodes seem so worse and so out of the blue that i no longer know what to do..like right now, i could definitely hear my heart beat to think i have been sitting for a long while now..
