You may have read my earlier posts about my circumstances and i'm bored with it too but after 40 years of constant headaches and steadily get worse i have got to sort it out as thr thought of another 20 or 30 years of this pain is not very appealing.
I started over with a visit to my GP who refered me to a neuroligist who as usual said nothing to worry about. My GP said the usual tension headache stuff and suggested another go at Amiltriptine, so here i am on 20 mg at night unable to wake until 10 and carry around a lethergy all day. Has anybody else experiened the same thing? and of course my headaches are no better. I am hopeing that a medical proffessional reads my posts and is interested enough to get in touch.
My symptoms... not a part of my head that has'nt ached or hurt, sometimes pressure in my left ear, sometimes visual disturbances ( eyes are ok), sometimes a metal taste in my mouth, sometimes shivvery cold feelings, sometimes sore neck that creeks when i move it and a very sore scalp that hurts to touch and even when brushing my hair.
sorry to go on but getting desperate again. I do hope somebody reads this and can help me.

Have you tried propranolol?
I have but not recently, probably about 10 years ago. Does it work for you?
All I can add is I had the metallic taste with migraines. When I was younger hormones were often the trigger. Majority were caused by foods, the usual coffee, alcohol but also things as diverse as ginger, pineapple, turmeric.
the creaking neck I can relate too. My headaches became viscous, far, far worse than the migraines and different--tho doctors weren't over interested as long as I'd not had a stroke or had meningitis.
turned out it was a shifted muscles in my neck, pressing on nerves. Chiropractor sorted it and exercises daily have given me back a lot of head movement and the creaking and clicking us almost non existent.
if you've not seen a chiropractor, might be worth a visit. Cost me £200-300 to get sorted but best money I've ever spent. In last 4 months I've had no more than 3 headaches ( all due to cold type bugs and the awful Norovirus)
before iwas spending 3 days a week on average in agony, barely able to move or speak.

im currently on amitriptiline for my headache, been on them for nearly 2 years now starting at 10mg and now on 50mg.
when I upped my dose I felt foggy and tired all day long but it got better and has been keeping my head pressure to the minimum.
regarding Propananol it did nothing for me, my headach specialist said it's not really effective on daily Persistant headaches like amitriptiline.
I suffered with migraines for 25 years and tried a number of types of medication. Mine turned out to be sinus related and for the past two years have had a number of operations for my sinuses. I get the odd minor headache but can't remember the last migraine. Worth pushing for a CT scan of your sinuses and head to check zest pressure. Don't let them fob you off keep pushing for referral.

How was the muscle problem found? as i have decided to write to my doctor with all my symptoms and possible causes and treatments in the hope he reads it over and investigates properly.

My neck was painful from when I'd used a heavy sander to sand my floors. Friend recommended her chiropractor. She took about 5 minutes to find out exactly which muscle/s had moved. She then showed me diagrams showing exactly where the nerves were that were being squeezed and where the pain would show. Two lines from my neck over the top of my head. I'd been drawing these lines on my head ( to a total of 7 doctors) but going ftom front to back instead of the other way, but you'd have thought a doctor would have thought of it! She did manipulation and dry needling over about 6 weeks and I'm now headache free.
It might be worth a consultation with a chiropractor.
Thank you for that. There are several choiropratic's in my area but not sure who to choose. Our symptoms to seem to match so would be good to see your choiropractor. I live in suffolk uk. How far away are you?
