Headaches and eye testing

went to the opticians and I had the camera test done.  Dioes anyone know if this would pick up any brain abnormalities.  Eg tumours

Am not sure, I wanted to know if you had any pressure in your head and eyes that felt tired because am dealing with that and wanted to know if you had any related

Yes I have pain behind my eyes and pressure in my head.  I am tired but can't sleep

The vast majority of the brain isn't accessible via the eyes, sorry.

I was told that sometimes it shows up as pressure behind the eyes

Do you mean tumours specifically? Other things can raise the pressure in the brain, I suffer from intermittent hydrocephalus, which is an increased cerebrospinal fluid pressure, it causes terrible headaches.

I don't think it has to do with tumors, I had a ct scan and my results were fine. I do believe there's so many other reasons that trigger these symptoms

Have you gotten an MRI? I am gonna get one, they should tell you everything because ct scans can determine such things as tumors but not everything

Because of my health anxiety I think my GP will worry about it making my anxiety worse.  If it doesn't improve I will ask for one.  At the moment she doesn't see the need for one.  I agree that MRI are the best.  They show everything.  Thanks for replying

No not tumours especially but that comes to mind.

I also deal with anxiety, like bad anxiety so everyone tells me I am just stressed and anxiety causes these things but I would like a peace of mind, I got the ct scan out of the way so just need MRI because this pressure in my head is frustrating me, my eyes feel dry and tired I feel like am out of it, feel not normal but best advice I can give you is that your not alone, and its not a tumor. Control your anxiety it makes things worse but as long as we are okay and have help everything will be okay hope this helps

Thanks for that I will try to keep that in mind.  Hope your results are ok

Make sure that you're drinking plenty of water, without going crazy, over hydrating isn't healthy, either. The commonest cause of headaches in women, is dehydration, apparently. Keep an ongoing record of your symptoms, any questions AND of your diet. It could be environmental, I became allergic to my cats, which caused bad headaches (I use a steroid nasal spray, and still have my cats!)

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but always remember that any of us on here saying 'oh it's definitely this ' or ' it definitely ISN'T that ' are NOT in a position to diagnose, we're all just kicking around ideas.

Please note: MRI's don't see everything, they are at their most useful when used to look for a particular thing. There are different kinds of MRI's, too, with different resolutions. MRI results need to be analysed by an appropriate professional, who needs to be advised what it is that they're looking for. Results are typically dealt with by a team of medics in the relevant speciality.

A large physical presence in the brain would be easier to pick up, but many problems could be very small, or simply a matter of opinion.

Oh okay... I really can't explain what is going on with me but so far those are my symptoms hope I can get an answer soon thanks

Hi Mary

I had the camera done as well and was told everything looked ok I am not sure if it can detect tumors .I had  a ct scan done as well and they said it was fine x

I am aware of that but it normally shows pressure behind the eyes.  My GP isn't concerned it's just my stupid health anxiety going into overdrive.  Thanks for helping
