Headaches caused by physical exertion?

I have been suffering from headaches along the front of my head when doing physical activity (i.e. manual labor/shoveling dirt, moving rocks). I drink a lot of fluids (water and coffee) prior to the headaches brought on by the manual labor. I am in my early 50's, have worked out nearly everyday lifting weights and cardio for the past 25 years, am not overweight and consider myself to be in excellent shape. I do not get the headaches when working out, just when bending, shoveling etc... I also have low/normal BP of 110/70 and a pulse of 58. I am hoping someone can help me out with a suggestion or tip.  Thx

John did you ever have any injuries to your head sounds like there is pressure somewhere when you do  physical labor try to leave out coffee for a week

The way you describe your head pain sounds quite like something I experience. In my case it's the direct result of having had brain surgery in 2012. My surgeon said that I was feeling the effects of hydrocephalus, I said that it felt like my brain was being crushed, apparently it is. When I'm teetering on the brink of another round of hydrocephalus, I find that any bending forward and then quickly righting myself causes very intense head pain.

Your pain sounds worse than what I experience, although I do experience the headaches oftentimes when I get up quickly. Unlike the normal tension headache the pain does go away after I lay down for 5-10 minutes even without any over the counter meds. I will do some research into hydrocephalus and see what I find. Thank you.

No prior head injuries that I can think of. I do like my coffee, though I only have a couple of cups in the AM. I was thinking it was possibly from not drinking enough water but I've increased that and i still gte the headaches. Quitting coffee is tough to swallow but I may give it a try if that's what it takes. Thx

Do a little research about what amounts of liquids are healthiest, it is possible to OVER hydrate, too.
