If it's genuinely swollen seek medical help. As for feeling it, I've not specifically felt like my tongue was swollen but I have had a lump in my throat, pain in my neck and glands and feeling like something is stuck when swallowing. I also have a hemangioma on my tongue and when I'm run down or more stressed than normal, its sore. It changes colour frequently too, kind glazes over white/blue or looks like it's gone, then bleeds and forms again. The source of ALOT of anxiety I can tell you but after two referrals for it at two separate times over the years with assurance it is benign and totally harmless, I've just had to get use to it.
It's horrible moving from one symptom and concern to another, but anxiety can cause nearly every symptom going and it sounds like health anxiety is your main worry at present. Perfectly normal to worry but worth seeing a doctor and maybe try therapy if you can.
And yes, it feels like the loneliness thing in the world at times but I can assure you, it's very common and you're definitely not alone x
I've def had variations at least of all of the symptoms you mentioned above lol. All from anxiety.
I get the lump in throat feeling ALL the time. It comes and goes, sometimes lasting days. It's sooo annoying.
I've also had the pain in the back and neck, specifically really bad neck muscle tensions for weeks that was so uncofmortable.
Numbness of my hands/feet/legs/arms and even face has happened to me from time to time. Usually when I'm feeling extra anxious.
I see a therapist and it helps me a LOT. I highly suggest seeing one if you haven't. Sounds like you just have some bad anxiety issues at the moment and need some reassurance/techniques on fighting it. A therapist who specializes in anxiety can help with this!
I have first appointment with a therapist on11 June I’m hoping for a miracle 🤞
Good for you!! And if you don't care for them, try seeing another one. I tried 2 diff people. The first one I tried was just a regular therapist, she didn't know much about anxiety, she didn't even know breathing techniques she had to google them lol. The next one I picked had a specialization in anxiety and she is SO much better and much more familiar with anxiety disorders.
Oh Denise you poor pet, I know exactly the symptoms you have, this is just your anxious mind playing a nasty little game with you and your body, therapy does really help, some people also need medication which is perfectly fine. U need to do whatever is right for you, all these symptoms will go away once you accept them for what they are- an over anxious mind combined with an adrenaline fuelled body. They are not real in the slightest every odd sensation is fake, we are just so tuned into our bodies right now that our minds create fake problems, generally speaking the problems are normally what you fear most.
Your family love you very much, maybe try and sit down and have a chat about what is going through your mind, they don’t have to say anything but they need to know how you feel.
THIS TOO SHALL PASS
