health anxiety and brain tumour worries :(

in 2012 I developed left headaches and eventually got reffered for ct scan- all clear apart from being diagnosed with migraines. convinced myself I was dying at the time

since then I have had a few migraine episodes all on the same side.

2 weeks ago I developed a headache in the centre of my head, have had them before and usually sleep them off.

anyhow woke up the next day with random shooting pains in right head/temple area. as the week went on, I continued to get these pains 90% right side 10% left.

sometimes on my right side it is around and above my eye, sometimes its on top of my scalp. sometimes theres a burning sensation in my right forehead.

left side pains can be anywhere.

the pain above my right eye is especially there when I cough/bend/sneeze.

I managed to see my gp on Monday and she said it sounds like nerve pain and can last week.

she checked back of my eyes and couldn't see anything and she said if she was worried about anything she would tell me.

I have another appointment for 2 weeks time.

I also have an opticians appointment for Monday.

on a scale of 1-10 the pains when they come are only a 1, they are not debilitating but its just the fact they have been there for 2 weeks.

I am absolutely petrified of a brain tumour.

I don't think I have any other symptoms. I have tingling in left leg but I have been taken accupan and one of its side effects is tingling, so I think it is that.

at the minute, this is taking over my life. it is 5.15  in the morning and im at work at 9. I should be in bed but I woke and cant get back to sleep worrying.

i should also mention over the last 2 weeks I have had aches and pains in all 4 lobes of my head on both sides, some more than others..

also when I cough/sneeze I get a stabbing pain above right eye

it is taking over my life

any advice ?

I don't have any good advice because I am honestly going through the same thing. If you feel panicky then deep breathe and the only real person that can give you a sense of calm is your doctor. If you don't trust their opinion ask if you can have a second opinion.

I started getting really bad migraines maybe 3-4 weeks ago and I was on my period at the time when it started. I've finally have had enough and have went to see my doctor 2 days ago. I also have scared myself into thinking that I have a brain tumor. You are not alone. That's why I wanted to see her. She did some like "cognitive" test with me, checked my eyes and reflexes. And she said I look too good for that to be my problem. I honestly just said I have migraines and Its concerning and she's the one who brought up the tumor (She understands my worries so well). She wants me to track them for 2 more weeks and then she'll send me for an MRI.

My migraines are 90% right and 10% left. My righ eye like right at the eyebrow hurts sometimes too. I don't get any other symptoms with them and they are not debilitating but it is concern. My mind automatically jumps to the worse case scenario.

I am very afraid too. The another day I was crying because my went to the worse case scenario and then I started to think about all the aftermath or if I have This or that.

I noticed that my gum/tooth at the righ side has been hurting a little too so look out for things like that because they can give you headaches/migraines too.

Again I don't really have advice but to just believe your doc is looking out for you. I just wanted to share my story with you incase it gives you some sort ot relief.

Best wishes.

Hey thanks for replying

its an awful time for anyone to think they have something sinister wrongmy go actually told me my right side doesn't sound migraine related as it started centrally.

I'm up to date with fillings etc so don't think it's my teeth.

Hope we are ok xx

Hi Emma maybe this can help, many years ago I was going through a lot of stress and many headaches I had scan of my head and nothing wrong with me like you thought it was serious I was told if I had a tumour that I would have continuos pain and severe . Sometimes nerve pain can come from jaw and neck misalignment causing similar symptoms and being worried can tense you try to really concentrate on your deep breathing to calm these sensations your friend
