How does everyone deal with health anxiety . Its driving me insane . 1 pain or anything and i google it then next thing my body does what internet says . I need to get over this as passing it on to my daughter .
Therapy first of all to find out the root of your anxiety. Have you lost a loved one or anything like that? this could trigger it.
I too suffer with it and I can tell you that the days where I wasn't even scared of ilnesses and various diseases, I was just waking up different, stronger, more determined and more like '' i don't care'' attitude. I really don't know how that happened, I had loads of discussions with myself and psychotherapy helped a great deal to other issues as well , but I'm currently back into the pit of health anxiety.
Best of luck to you. Try to hide it from your daughter, you don't want her to be suffering!
Think that alot of my problem . Keep thinking if something were to happen to me how would she cope as she suffers from anxiety and depression already .
Its hard not to pass it on..its also gentic.genetic and learned.you do your best thats all you can do. Gift yourself and daughter self calming techniques and all ways and books and such to learn and manage it as best you can. Anxiety disorder seems to make a person like a sponge only tends to absorb negative. Be nice if it worked in reverse.

For a start I never use GOOGLE.
My condition is Chronic so I now know all my relevent side affects and can normally get by. I do however get some unpleasent sensations that are caused by PsA.
Generally when I have Anxiety and I have an unknown condition I try and work out if it is an extension of my condition, I then use my medications or TENS.
If it is something else unrelated to my condition I look at the problem as a possible virus or infection and will try and treat it myself for a time then if it is still hanging around for about four days will make an appointment with my GP. I will try and use mediations from the Chemist, like for coughs etc. I always look towards the Surgery as a last resort.
If I hurt myself, flare or suffer something I cannot treat at home I make an appointment. I do not use A and E directly only if things are serious.
A while ago I came down with Meningitis and my Wife phoned the Surgery, I was admitted next morning.
I try and prevent myself going straight to the GP as I could wait upwards 2 to 3 weeks

Carole try to stop googling illness whilst in some respects you feel it might make you feel reassured, most of the time it will freak you out. You will also end up reading a whole load more symptoms about something totally unrelated to what you are trying to find out about and then the instant you sense one of these 'symptoms' you will believe you have it yourself!
I've always had a fascination with the human body, how it works, how it goes wrong and how treatments can help us out. For years and years I've read about loads of things, watched health related and tv programmes and this in turn has led to my health anxiety.
Whilst it is hard to give up believe me you need to do it.
If you feel something is wrong and it doesn't go away over a few days go to the GP and talk to them about it, don't go to Dr Google!
Thanks kerry i know i shouldnt do it . I keep thinking i have mnd or something like that because my muscles ache and legs sometimes twitch . I know 70 % of peoples muscles twitch at somepoint and i know it usually starts in one foot or hand etc and my whole body aches ( prob virus ) but with my anxiety it quickly gets out of control . But then im so wound up i can feel that my muscles are really tense so prob making things so much worse x
