Health Anxiety making me want to give up

hey everyone.

i had some trauma from an accident at the start of the year which involved a hospital stay. I was placed on a covid ward due to a false positive test and was discharged 3 days later after major facial surgery. A few days after i was discharged our beloved dog was put to sleep and i started experiencing coronavirus symptoms. A few days later and a positive test and I was experiencing mild symptoms. At the end of the week after getting through the nose running, i had a coffee which brought on a horrific panic attack. I havent had a panic attack like it in over 10 years and it completely threw me. The next 3 weeks I couldnt do anything without having a panic attack and my anxiety was all day every day. Fast forwards a month and i had the vaccine and spent the 2 weeks after worrying i was going to die. i have recently started seeing a therapist to try and get to the bottom of it but in the meantime i am terrified to exercise. i am usually very fit, frequent the gym and ride my bike 12 -15 hours per week. i cannot exercise without feeling like i am actually going to die as soon as i stop, even a 5 minute bike ride is bringing on horrific fear. The doctors said my heart rate was nothing to worry about and my chest sounded clear but it feels like so much more. does anyone else experience this with anxiety? I am wondering what the point is and i am just waiting for the day to end each day without a panic attack and not being able to exercise without lightheadedness and awful feelings is pushing me over the edge.

The panic and anxiety are making you have negative thoughts about your heart. You’ve been checked out and everything is OK. But I know what you’re talking about because when I have anxiety I will sometimes have skipped heartbeats. I know they are harmless and I still work out anyway. also when you have anxiety, it’s tiring on the body so sometimes when you’re exercising you can feel extra exhausted.maybe you can start out by going on walks and then build up from there. feel better soon!

its a horrible feeling. Spending the days just praying i get through them. its almost like groundhog day.
