Hi guys, i got this breathing not right issue intermittently like you need oxygen or something not right along with chest tightness and tingling sensations, spo2 is at 99% always, i put my devices beside my bed and always monitor in a few min (like fever, bp and sp02). Funny thing is when i move around like going outside or walking around eating, i dont feel any chest tightness or breathing issue (like a normal person), when i start resting or sleeping or playing games or watching youtube/fb/anime/movies symptoms come out. I wouldn’t call i have pneumonia because breathing seem fine and sp02 is also good, chest xray and sound also clear with no fever or sore throat.
Recently due to this i have on and continue to on xanax and amitriptyline 10mg every night. While i have consult multiple doctors but nothing is found major or minor symptoms that will lead to serious complications or pneumonia or fever or covid or any major diseases. With the worry of covid it has been 27 days along with those symptoms.
In the past, 2 years ago, i have terrible insomnia and anxiety (have to take sleep meds and melatonin 10mg + valerian) because i cannot sleep. I cannot sleep for like 78 hours non-stop while i was working night shift. A lot of peeing like 5min one time and could not sleep. When i go ER nothing is wrong and all tests were done (they even grow bacteria culture in lab to find out i have any uti or not). This was recovered slowly like takes a few months. I don’t know how its recovered too.
Now as such symptoms cannot sleep and new breathing issue, new tingling sensation, arise due to uncertainty periods. Also i went ER twice and nothing is wrong again. When i don’t take xanax symptoms get worse. When i take xanax symptoms a bit relief but not totally gone.
My mom says you are crazy.
you are not crazy. Sounds like you have overwhelming stress and anxiety which is causing your symptoms. You have been checked out medically and they can’t find anything wrong. millions of people have anxiety with many different types of symptoms. I know that I’ve had probably every anxiety symptom there is. Mine all started in my 20s.
You most likely need some support in managing your anxiety. It’s difficult to do alone. I would suggest you speak with a therapist who can help you manage this. As far as the shortness of breath, it’s really important to know how to breathe properly during anxiety. It was a great relief to find a short meditation for that on YouTube. Made a big difference.
You are probably overthinking all of this which keeps the symptoms going.
Remember that what we think about will magnify!
take care of yourself!
hi anyone that has health anxiety like us feels these feelings and people that dont so not understand just try and take assurance that i also have these symptoms/ feelings and it is part of the anxiety hope you feel better soon
its definitely anxiety my friend, and its unfortunate that everyone does not understand what its like. i have this problem with my wife. shes never had anxiety disorder and cant relate to what i am going through. until youve actually experienced what we are going through, they will never understand. i just think of it as like i am special and different from others and it doesnt have to be a bad thing. other people are narcicists or hypocrites or have anger issues, i have anxiety issues, so what, does not mean you are a bad person, just a little more in tuned to your own body, thats all. you are going to be just fine. nothing to be a shamed of, its not your fault, you certainly did not ask for this. just have to learn to live with it. i did, albeit with medication, but i have lived with it for 20 years and i am still here. others have it, dont know it and/or ignore it, drown it out with alcohol or weed.
jan you always give such good advice. you should be proud of all the people you are helping. good job. and i mean this
does anyone else get a racing pulse and headache then once you have relaxed it calms down?
i have had that experience a few times. its also your anxiety. when you are up and moving around your heart goes faster and your circulation increases. when you relax your body still thinks its standing up for a few minutes, then the heart slows and circulation slows and you feel okay again. it seems everything your body does is amplified and you are super aware of your body when you have anxiety. it really stinks. i drink lots of water to stay hydrated and it helps with the headaches. i also try to stay away from heavy lifting or anything that may excite me to keep my heart from racing. its hard to do. recognizing your triggers is an essential means to control the anxiety. i am medicated so i have xanex for heart racing episodes and panic attacks. i also have long term medicines to slow the anxiety symptoms during everyday routines. they help curb the effects of anxiety but they do not completely eliminate it. i usually get the symptoms you describe when i first sit down or lay down, it takes 5 - 10 minutes before it calms down.
