Health Anxiety ruining my actual health.

Hey guys, I’ve posted quite a bit here the past few days. But I’ve noticed my quality of life dissipate before my eyes in the last two week. I’ve been to two urgent cares, two doctors, and two ER trips, one where I had a CT scan with contrast worried that I had a brain tumor. Well, in the past couple weeks as well, I started getting stomach pain, and for the last two days, it’s tirned into severe indigestion. And feeling acid crawl up my throat. I started worrying that I have stomach cancer or an ulcer. On top of that I’m still scared about a potentially missed BT. This is ruining my life and none of the doctors have referred me to help, or anything. I seriously don’t know what to do anymore

Sounds like health anxiety, one day you are worrying about a brain tumor the next it's cancer in your stomach. Anxiety can cause indigestion, headaches, diarrhea and hyper sensitivity. Hyper sensitivity I feel is what causes health anxiety. Every little thing your body is doing you can feel it and it seems 3X more intense so you think there is something wrong. One of the best ways to overcome this is to accept the feelings and teach your mind and body not to panic. Tell yourself "I'm fine, I got checked out...I just have a bit of indigestion" relax your shoulders and your body to show your mind that you are fine so you can teach it not to panic over every thing. If you can do that you can help the hyper sensitivity as you'll get use to the every day feelings again.

I have been dealing with this same thing for the past 4 months been to Er 6 times had multiple tests done 6 ekg 6 blood test 2 chest X-rays ct scan on stomach and ultrasound on gallbladder and liver . Have been to. Need checkcand about 7 dr visits . I have chest pain stomach pain arm and shoulder back and pretty much everything hurts . Your not alone I am beginning to believe it’s anxiety and I hope it goes away for the both of us soon

Hi JPINO321

I have been suffering with the same thing since July 2017. I sold my home and bought a new one and the entire processes left me with extreme anxiety. I didn't know it at the time I just thought that there was something seriously wrong with me.

I have experienced the stomach issue and I too have the acid reflux, this usually burns my throat and leaves me feeling I have something stuck in my throat. I also thought this was a stomach ulcer or throat cancer.

I went to the doctors a couple of times and on the second visit the doctor said that he thought I had anxiety and referred me for a cognitive behavioural therapy course. It has helped me to accept my anxiety and gave me tools to help me cope, I just need to embed then into my life and believe in them. To be honest reading people's story's on here is like therapy, it helps you to realise your not alone and makes you realise that the anxiety can give you many physical symptoms.

I have many triggers and it took the cognitive behavioural therapy to make realise that the physical symptoms I have, can and are most likely caused by the anxiety. The more anxious I get about them the worse they are. one big circle.

It might be helpful to check out the mental health services where you live.

I am told that it dosnt last forever and with work it will get better if not manageable.
