i am suffering from health anxiety and panic attacks, I overfocus on my health and I get extremaly concerned when I get a sensation or feeling. The last week I've had pins and needles/ numbness/ tingling throughout my body but mainly in my feet. I though that I had something serious like MS or Guilin barre syndrome, I went to three different doctors they all say no and I had blood work and am waiting on results , they suspect it's a vitamin defiency but I don't understand why it came on a week ago randomly. Today it's still happening a week on and I'm getting chest palpiatations and breathing is feeling funny as I'm so anxious . Please help me I'm 16.
Calm down my lovely. I'm 19, and I have been suffering similar things since 18. Last year I went through months of convincing myself I had heart problems. Still now I focus too much on my heart beat and freak out every time I get a palpitation. But do you know what? It's all normal, the more anxious you get the worse it will be. I can understand it's horrible because it's your heart, but it's normal.
I promise you you'll be okay, you're only young. Please don't let this get you down. It ruined my life for months but I had the strength to pull through. Focus on things in your life you love like a hobbie or listen to your fave music loudly and dance around your room! It works!
Your body is a funny thing and these things can come out of nowhere, but as long as all your tests are ok then you are ok
You can pull through hunny xxxxx
Hi.what a lovely reply to amyliasha. How great you can help others by sharing your experience, just by people knowing they are not alone and someone else knows how they feel can help so much, at your age I didn't reach out like this and it's such a lonely illness until we talk about it. Hope you both have great lives, anxiety gets less scary the more you learn to cope with it, it's horrid yes and gets you down but lots of people learn to live with it, with help and support❤️
Thank you❤️ It's so important to help others. People take my health anxiety as a joke so I don't often speak out about it but helping others helps me. To know you're not alone is great. It truly worries me how many posts this anxiety forum gets every day, not enough is being done to help people suffering with mental health, so we have to help each other wishing you all the best also x
Please try not to worry too much. I had the same things in my 20s thinking I had MS but never did. Nothing serious ever happened even though I had pins and needles, tingling throughout my body like you, and in my feet. I still get it sometimes in my feet but it's nothing serious . It's all due to anxiety. I'm glad you went to doctors and I'm sure you will be fine. Vitamin deficiency can sometimes cause those symptoms. Every single one of my test came out normal. The reason you are getting heart palpitations
it's because when you have anxiety, you're brain sends out hormone called adrenaline to protect you. Adrenaline can cause rapid heart beat and palpitations. It cannot hurt you. Any symptoms caused by anxiety cannot hurt you! I know it can be scary but that is all it can do.
you're breathing is feeling funny all because of the anxiety. You see, all anxiety begins in the brain so what you have to do is calm down your brain.
One thing I suggest you do is go to YouTube and search for guided meditation for breathing. It's excellent and it teaches you proper breathing when you were feeling anxious and having symptoms. I think it could really help you .
You tube also has some great meditations for anxiety and stress. There are so many to choose from. Listen carefully to them and I like to use earbuds for the best effect
try not to let fear and anxiety take you over. And when you get symptoms, don't react with anxiety because it will make everything worse. What I do when I get any symptom is to immediately go to my slow deep breathing and then tell myself that everything will be fine. That I know I'm having this symptom and that's OK. That way your brain will stay calm. And not send out more adrenaline. Then I listen to one of the great meditations for anxiety. They completely calm down my whole mind and body. So I completely understand how you are feeling because it happened to me in my 20s. If you had any of those two diseases you would feel a lot worse, believe me!
try not to focus on every little symptom you get because everybody gets aches and pains and funny sensations in their bodies from time to time. 98% of all the symptoms we get are not serious! You are young and chances are you are very healthy . You just need help managing the anxiety.
I also recommend speaking with a counselor who can help you with this. Sometimes it's hard to overcome on your own and it really helps to talk to someone else in person. It has really helped me.
you will have peace of mind once you find out your test is normal. After that, try and stay active, do things you enjoy.
be good to yourself and don't take life too seriously. Don't forget to laugh and smile because it's been shown that it actually makes positive changes in the brain. Enjoy your life. 🌸🌸🌸🌸
Thankyou so much that really has helped me, I hate these sensations , numbness/tingling/ Pins and needles is so scary.
