hi. my health anxiety is out of control and i know i am posting to seek reassurance, which isnt healthy, but i'm desperate. about two weeks ago, i was in central america, and something flew into my head. two people i was with insist it was a bird, but i am convinced it was a bat. there isn't a visible wound, but it got super close to my eye, so i have convinced myself that the virus has transmitted via the mucus membrane. i called my doctor and she said they only recommend rabies vaccines if there was a bite or scratch, but i am really freaked out. any advice will be appreciated!
if by chance you got the virus, you definitely would be showing signs by now. are you having any symptoms?? I once had a fear like this about 10 months ago when a cat scratched me and I learned that it had NEVER had its shots. the doctor is right though, if there is no bite or scratch your probably fine. can’t you just demand a rabies vaccine anyways?? in my opinion with doctors… its your body and money, so if we want a shot or test done to protect us… then we should be able too.
was it dusk or night? they dont fly in the day time
