Health Anxiety wake up gasping for breath!

Last night I woke up gasping for breath at least five times. I have had this before it's nearly always as I am just going to sleep but also happens when I am asleep. It feels like I have stopped breathing and when I wake I struggle to move anything. Has anyone else had this and is it normal with anxiety X

Believe it or not that is a common occurrence with or without anxiety. But anxiety can definitely cause it. Don’t worry, you will never stop breathing altogether because breathing is automatic even if it’s interrupted at times. But I know how scary it can feel.
there are a few reasons for it. One of those is anxiety because remember our brain never stops working. Another reason is that people actually have nightmares that they don’t remember.,. Another reason is some people have sleep apnea where there is a natural obstruction in the airways. This is one that millions of people have. normally it’s middle-age people but it can sometimes occur in young adult hood.
chances are that yours is due to anxiety. When it happens, that’s the time to do the long slow deep breathing and get back into a relaxed state. if it keeps happening day after day after day you can always get a sleep study done. But first, work on trying to relax yourself back to sleep. No matter what it’s from, there’s a Way to reverse it. You’re gonna be OK

thank you so much. you have no idea how comforting your words are. now I know it’s not just me I will definitely be able to relax. many thanks
