Health anxiety worried about focal seizures

Every doctor tells you never to read anything online and I have been doing this all week, I read a arrival about a lady who had panic attacks that said it was focal seizures. I have been down right panicking since I went and talked to my doctor who re assured me it was not a seizure but the feelings in my head scare me, it's always on my mind so when I go to fall asleep a weird feeling wakes me up. Does anyone ever worry about seizures. I'm so scared I need someone who understands.

Hello Megan, I also used to worry constantly about my health, for almost a year. I experienced those weird feelings in my head, and also ran straight to my doctor, expecting it to be something serious. I used to worry so much I'd end up taking a panic attack.

When you google your symptoms, it only shows the rare causes. I mean extremely rare. If you ever have any new symptoms your worried about, go to your doctor. He/she knows you. Google doesn't. They can check you over. Google can't.

When my doctor told me why I have these symptoms, I didn't believe her for a long time. But then I stopped searching for symptoms, and they started to get better. Not straight away, but over time they've gotten better. Please believe what your doctor tells you...I know it's hard at the moment, but your doctor has been through med school, and probably worked in a hospital for some time. If your not satisfied, maybe get a second opinion from a different doctor...but I'm almost certain what your describing is just a symptom of anxiety.

I hope this helped...and sorry for rambling on a bit there. If you need to talk, you can private message me.

Thanks, Jack

Thank-you everyone I have talked to even a friend who has epilepsy said it was anxiety, the big issue is getting your mind to believe it. It's so hard

A seizure is so very different. It feels way different. I had one from some medicine 23 years ago. Nothing like anxiety at all. You wouldnt even second guess it all by the way. Its a full body experience. No fear at all, no thoughts involved.  Its just very different and i have anxiety and get panic attacks so id be able to say honestly  they are so different, i dont think its anything for you to truely worry about at all. I will say i had a test for seizures and the test is intense and awful. They flash lights thru your closed eyes in patterns and with intesity that actually hurt at times. My guess to induce a seizure. The nuero does that. I was theilled when the test was done.. Mine was just from a medicine. Theres nothing for you to actually fear.

The irony is your fear is most likely worse then any ailment would even be.

So even mini seizures are different too? Searching on Google I found is the worst thing to do when your anxious. Thank-you for replying I appreciate it this all helps me

Yes they are very different. Im being very honest with you, they just feel very different.p. Reading it and expricieng it are not the same, expericing it i can say is a vastly different thing. Panic attacks suck, that before sleep weird stuff i dont know what that is called i do know what your talking about thiugh, nit a seizure. Its your nody felling asleep but your in a heightened state so you are too aware of it. Like a faling jerking very weird mive, ent and sensation kind of thing, when im very anxious and frazzled and want to go to sleep i believe many times i have experienced that.  Not the same. A seizure takes the whole body at ince i dont know how to explain it. I afraid to take you thru the experience because anxious minds absorb symptoms and experiences and its best not to have that knowledge. You read enough now so no need to read more. After a while things start conforming into your thiughhts and its so different but you will seek out similiarities but the intensity is vastly different. I dint know how else to explain that. The weird thing yiu are experiencing would be a one maybe a two on a scale nd be simiplier and your anxious ..woth a seizure there more going in , alot more and the it would be the 10 , no anxiousness or fear in it though. Its a while bidy doing stuff and muscles and such. Ill leave it at that.

sorry about the typos. I would suggest when you go to sleep you need to be oess anxious, not over  tired. Try a magnessium foot soak (epsom salt) before bed two or three time a week.  Something to get you calmer. Hooefully that will decrease what you are experiencing. You have to dimish that frazzled anxious feeling before you go to sleep lowering the heightened sensitivity somehow. Then you wont get that. I just know being over tired amd frazzled is a bad mix. My own little secret is i do magnessium foot soaks. Eosom salt or magnessium flakes one full cup in a very warm basin of water (can use a tperware) for about 20-25 minutes. Then rinse it off your feet.  The magnessium will do its magic to calm your muscles and such. Then get ready for bed and out in some soothing sounds of your liking or soft music with no words and hopefully you will just fall asleep with the sensatiins. They arent dangerous. You can even listen to mindful exercise. Some like then and some dont. Depends on you. Or a podcast. They have many anxiety podcasts too you can listen too. Interesting too. I will send you a great link. So you have something to listen too before bed or anytime. Look in your messages. Upper right corner says messages.
