Hi Iv suffered I think from health anxiety for many years I no wot causes it so I don't get it often death it's my cause I look up any thing that is rong with me n often ends in panick attacks this time Iv my throat is swelled like a fatty lump I went to the doctors 2 weeks ago n he's reassured me it's soft n moves but to reassure u I will book a scan as he thinks it limth node Iv been under so
Much stress lately I'm a single parent of 6 kids 2 girls 4 boys 1 of the girls is disabled but I have 24/7 help from my mum n dad for her I over think every situation getting bk to my throat Iv had anxiety every day since my scan is another 2 weeks but all I keep getting is like wen your about to cry I get a lump in ya throat I'm feeling this all
The time n makes me so bad nurvous I get it all can't sleep eat tummy ache headaches pains aches just wondering if any one else gets the horrible lumpy feeling I no there's nothing ther as I can swollen it's so scary n it's taking over my life

Yes Kelly, millions of people also have health anxiety as you do. I had it for many years and occasionally get it still. Your doctor is right though if the lump is movable that's a very good sign ! Sometimes lymph nodes can swell when we have maybe a virus going on. I've had them swell in my neck and groin area and nothing serious was wrong. All my kids have had them when they were young when they had a virus or flu. They went away on their own. Some people get fatty deposits that are not dangerous either. I know it's hard to but try to relax because chances are it's nothing serious.
If you have access to YouTube, there are some great meditations you can listen to for anxiety. They really calm down.they help you separate negative thoughts from yourself and show you how to completely relax. Just search for guided meditation for anxiety. They also have them for depression and sleeping.
do not look up your symptoms on Google! They will just scare you and chances are they don't have anything to do with what's going on with yourself.
The best thing you can do is stay active and busy with your children, listen to the meditation's such as when you
are lying down go to sleep . Our mind can play tricks on us and make very negative scary thoughts. Those are not reality, they are just thoughts. When you get a scary or negative thought, try not to get anxious and don't try to fight it off. What you do is tell yourself you know the thought is there, then imagine it floating off and dissolving. Do this every time. Don't let fear and anxiety take you over. You are in control. You can allow or not allow certain thoughts.
The lump you have is not hard and fixed, but it is soft and movable. That just sounds like a typical lymph node that's a little enlarged. Very common!
