Health Anxiety

Hi, I have been experiencing health anxiety for a few months now, it got so bad that it turned my life upside down however with the great support of my family, friends and psychiatrist i have come so far from the very dark days. I have not taken any medication and as much as i have improved, my health anxiety flairs up and can reduce me back to a very bad day, has anyone here with severe health anxiety taken medication? what helped to stop the awful intrusive thoughts and physical symptoms? my symptoms are chest pains, to the point i feel like i am suffocating, body weakness, feeling on edge Jaw ache from clenching so much. Lack of appetite etc. Thanks in advance x

I have taken Duloxetine and Alprazolam (as needed) for 6 months.

I have really bad health aniexty and my doctor gave me some sertraline tablets to take although im way to scared to take them incase I have bad side effects .. although my friend is on the same tablets and she swears by them saying the horrible thoughts she use to have have gone and made her go back to her normal happy self , am so tempted to try them myself as I’m struggling so much latley so here’s hoping lol.

I know that feeling, i have been offered so many different medication and not taken any of them as i am too scared of the side effects and how it will react in my body. i have got to a stage now that i think i am ready to try something to see if i can feel better, i am hoping that any side effects cant be worse than how i feel on my worst days with health anxiety. Do you get all the physical symptoms ?
