Health anxiety

so ive never sufferd with heartburn but i was wondering does anyone ever get it with there anxiety like i have a burning feeling in my chest like behind the breast bone dr google telling me i have stomach cancer so wanted some reassurance

Dean, please stay away from Dr. Google because it doesn’t pertain to your individual situation. They always state the worst case scenario when there are Waymore other things it could be that are not serious. And yes, anxiety tends to cause issues with the stomach and entire Gastro intestinal system. It can cause acid reflux which can cause a burning sensation in the throat and chest area.
anxiety and stress can cause gastritis which is what I had and it’s an inflammation of the stomach due to acid.
both of these can be treated. Anxiety and stress can also cause intestinal issues such as cramping, diarrhea etc. It can also cause constipation. , these are way more common and make more sense then stomach cancer when you have anxiety.
it really does sound like you have heartburn but only your doctor can diagnose that.
A couple of things you can do is avoid acid foods or beverages. That includes things like junk food, red meats, soda, sauces anything spicy .
you want to eat alkaline-based foods such as fresh vegetables, some fruits,.
You can find a list of acid and alkaline foods online.
Also smoking and alcohol will aggravate any kind of gastrointestinal issue.
another thing you can do is relax your mind as much as possible so that you’re not producing too much acid. Listen to relaxing music, take a walk, listen to meditations on YouTube for anxiety, etc.
your Doctor may prescribe an ant acid medication for you to take.
I hope you feel better soon! You’re going to be fine. But stay away from Dr. Google! That will stress you out even more and produce more stomach acid which you don’t want! Take care

hello you have no cancer at al honestly I have similar thing chest burn with pain dor days later feeling like that I had something under neath my chest bone I did ecg .MRI but they could see that it was a muscle inflammation.relieved your mind just relax then massage it goes in it’s own time

google cracks me up sometimes. yes, i have had that feeling before. it could be acid reflux or gerd or something that just didnt agree with your stomach. but thinking you have stomach cancer without ruling out other things is ludicrous. not saying its heart burn either. only an endoscopy by a doctor will tell you for sure. and knowing one way or the other will calm your fears. just make an appointment with a gastrointerologist and have an endoscopy done. its painless and you are asleep for the entire procedure. when you wake up, the doctor tells you whats going on and makes diet change recommendations and/or gives you something for the discomfort and you end up feeling better.

I’m currently not coping at all under lockdown. i suffer generalised anxiety and was on meds till last month when i stopped taking them because i wanted to try for a baby. then came the heartburn and indigestion, with nausea, burping a lot and occassional diarrhoea. ive been told these are withdrawal symptoms of the meds. ive since gone back on the meds since i was not having anxiety attacks under lockdown. so, to answer your question, YES, anxiety does cause digestive issues, including heartburn. and please, stay away from Google. it once had me convinced i was dying of cancer.

what kind of meds were on that you had to stop to try for a baby? i never heard of such a thing, and i have been on medication for anxiety disorder on and off for 20 years.
