I've been dealing with a lot of health issues over the past two months. First I got sick while traveling with some sort of bacterial infection which cleared up after the antibiotics. Then I started having bad nighttime heartburn and palpitations - had a normal EKG and was told I had GERD - given medication for that, took it for 10 days, didn't seem to help but at some point I stopped having heartburn yet I had another symptom which was tightness in my right side of my chest that seemed to be there constantly and felt muscular. I had a chest x-ray done which was normal, and my breathing is normal as well. I have continued to feel the tightness in my chest and also pain in the right side of my back and right arm. I tried to run and I feel physically fine (breathing wise and what not) but it exacerbates the chest pain, so it definitely appears to be muscular. I was given steroids (methylpredsilone) for a 6 day treatment which I completed 2 days ago. Sometimes I can't feel the pain, and other times the pain seems to get worse / return. Is it possible for the steroids to not take effect until after completing the treatment?
Anyways, in addition to the muscular pain, I recently started to feel the heartburn again at night when I lie down. I don't understand the heartburn as I eat super plain diet, basically all I have been eating is oatmeal, bananas, bread, vegetables, rice, etc. And I barely eat. I have been eating breakfast and then feeling full for the rest of the day almost like my food is just sitting in my stomach. Yet I have no stomach pain/nausea really, just discomfort.
For the past month and a half I have had some trouble sleeping but recently the problem has gotten even worse. It's become a vicious cycle of not sleeping. I can sleep every other night now it seems. Never in my life have I had trouble sleeping, heartburn/stomach issues, etc. I pretty much never need to go to the doctor, but in the past two months I have seen about 8 different doctors for all of these issues and I am constantly worried about it. I don't understand how all of these issues can be related and happening at once! The worst part (I know) is the lack of sleep, because I feel a million times better when I can get a good night sleep.
I'm so worried that something is seriously wrong, but none of the doctors seem to think anything major. Am I just worrying too much?
