Hi everyone. I asked this on the Citalopram forum, but then remembered there was a general anxiety forum and more people might experience this.
Sometimes when I lie down at night to go to bed, I hear a whooshing noise in time with my heartbeat. It happens in both ears. I don’t remember hearing this noise before I had anxiety problems again.
Does anyone else experience this? And if so, do you believe it is due to anxiety and not an indicator of a serious problem?
ac,
Have you had your blood pressure checked lately? Sometimes, when our blood pressure is up, that whooshing sound can be heard in our ears.
Yes I have had this happen many times and I do think it's anxiety it's been 2 years and nothing has come of it. I have had many heart test and everything is good so I just put it down to anxiety
This has happened to me on and off most of adult life. I within the last 2 years have been experience anxiety on a whole other level. But when I think back it is when I was most anxious that this has happened. I have had many heart tests done, my blood pressure usually run actually low rather than high. It has never hurt me and nothing has ever come otherwise from it, so I believe it is anxiety related.
Hi. Yes, I’ve gone to the doctor recently and my blood pressure was normal. My parents also have an at-home blood pressure machine and I usually check mine before going to bed - it always gives me low readings.
Thanks. It’s good to hear other people have experienced the same thing.
Yeah, I don’t remember having it happen before the anxiety, so I would think that would be a clue. Thanks for your response.
