does anyone feel like their throat is closing after running? ive had multiple tests ran on my heart this year by two cardiologists and everythting was normal. this only started happening recently after my anxiety started. does this happen to anyone else??
Hi, I had years of that feeling which was diagnosed in my case as pharyngeal spasm after 6 endoscopies and 2 gastroscopies plus 5 biopsies. .
One bit of advice that springs to mind was from an old ENT doctor of 30 years who said he had seen this many times in his surgery and all it was was that as we get older our mouth and throat get drier and we tend to notice it more.
With running you are drying the throat all the time when inhaling via the mouth under exertion. .

All the best
I have new trouble cycling up hill cant get enough air out sometimes, Im worried its my heart. My depression has got bad also and also the cold weather has started. I use a gaitor and breath through my nose and out through my mouth. Worried though, interestingly i seem to feel better after a burp comes up so I dont know if thats related.
im the same exact way! with elevation making it hard to breathe nd burping makes me feel better. im also convinced something wrong with my heart. however ive had several tests done this year that came back normal.
Im wondering do you eat before running? Mine also feels like pressure and I can feel the burp coming up. ive had endoscopy done and colonscopy both were fine. My dad, his Mum and Sister died or heart disease so you can see why I worry, which I think is quite warranted being I am now three years younger now than when my Dad died. It is like living with an illness feeling like it. Up to as I type I havent had the feeling but I havent been on bike today, Im having a rest till tomorrow, its got me frightened now though. x
