Heart failure at 24? Or anxiety

Hello!

I'm 24 and I've been experiencing ongoing heart palpitations that started a few years ago after I had the flu. Due to life events I also had a panic attack and was diagnosed with anxiety 4 years ago.

For the last year or two I have been feeling progressively breathless almost all the time, the palpitations I can feel even when standing up and I have about 7-20 a minute which makes my heart feel like it's fluttering.

I need 3 pillows to sleep at night otherwise the palpitations are worse and I can't breathe.

Going up the stairs makes me very breathless and tachycardic.

I'm always fatigued, breathless and my heart racing plus I get random chest pain.

I've had an echo 2 years ago which came out fine but I have premature ventricular contractions.

I have gained weight in the last 4 years which I'm sure have been contributing to the breathing but I can't excercise long enough as I become fatigued.

Now what's hard explaining to people is that I'm not anxious when I get these sensations.. infact those sensations make me feel anxious.

Does that can make sense?

Does this sound to you more like anxiety or something heart related.

Also my ankles are not swollen

Hi caolina. I was diagnosed with premature heartbeats too. PVC and PACS by my cardio and was given Ivabradine for that. Im only taking 5mg once a day coz i cant tolerate the side effects (dizziness and fatigue, weakness). I have all the symptoms ur having till now but like u, i also had lots of bloodworks and imaging tests done with lots of specialists and all test came back normal. It started last 2013. Those doctors are telling me its all in the mind, and wantz me to go and Check with a psychiatrist. After 5 long years, i just had myself checked with a psychia today and was diagnosed wih ANXIETY/DEPRESSION DISORDER. He prescribed me some anti depressants but will discuss it with my cardio first since i am taking Ivabradine which is use to slow our heart rate. I have read that u cant take some anti depressants if ur taking ivabradine. Thats why.

I had Ventricular Tachycardia, stopped by an ablation, now I just get supraventricular and ventricular ectopics, but my breathlessness arrived the day they put me on beta blockers, and remain 10 months after they took me off beta blockers, I am too be investigated to see if the beta blockers have permanently disrupted my Autonomic Nervous System.

I bought my own Oximeter as the doctors were fobbing me off saying I had anxiety which tends to be their usual money saving get out, said oxymeter demonstrated my mechanically good lungs are not being told what to do when I go to sleep. If you click on my graph below, you will see I spend most of the night with a dangerously low oxygen content, its supposed to be between 95 and 100%
