My heart beats constantly out of rythem. It'll beat super fast then super slow and then super fast again. It does this everyday all day every few seconds. It's scary and takes my breath and makes me dizzy. I went to the doctor and they thought I had a heart block so they sent me to the ER. The ER doc says I was normal and okay and my regular doctor overreacted. The hospital cardiologist surprised me and came to the ER just to see me. He said that its nothing to worry about especially at my age (19) but it's scary. He is one of the best cardiologists in my area. I've had 5 ECGs, chest X-Ray, CTA scan, and lots of blood work and my heart apparently feels fine. How is my heart okay if I feel all this but I've had several doctors tell me I'm okay...anyone else experience this?
Yes I do it's not a nice feeling I always hear thud thud thud in my ears all time it don't sound like heart beat mines fast n slow its anxiety
Hi,
its more normal than you realize..
but it you didn’t Say “it happens when”... everytime you ...? Stand? Sit? Walk? Random?
The breathe I feel is the anxious response.
Next question - in your ECGs did it happen? If not ask your heart doctor for a 24 or 48 hour halter monitor... He may say no, but just say “please, my brain needs to know for sure - even if you think I’m just worried, then let me satisfy my worry”
Now when it goes fast ,, do you know How Fast? Tachycardia is normal of the sinus rhythm is present... But if it’s SVT it will be almost 180 bpm, and feel like your heart is beating lighter than normal - almost a clug clug clug feeling and “may” pound back to normal, and you could feel flush or drained after an episode.
POTS is the last possibility (when standing).. usually older people or long term drug use and stopping.

The cardiologist actually listened to my heart and heard it do it himself and still said its nothing to worry about but what if he's missing something or is just blowing it of as nothing? Can anxiety cause all of this?
Have you been experiencing a lot of stress or anxiety issues lately? Anxiety can 100% cause heart palpitations, irregular heart beat and soooo many other physical symptoms not related to your heart, too.
For ex: Last year I had a period of 3 months where I was having bad chest pains, my arm would feel numb and tingle, I was dizzy all the time. I got so freaked out I was having a heart attack or heart issues, so i went to Dr and did an EKG/blood work. Everything came back totally normal and they said it was just my anxiety. After I heard that and I calmed down a bit, my symptoms eventually subsided and I haven't had them since. It's amazing what your mind can do to your body.
I am currently reading "Anxiety & Phobia Workshop (6th edition)" and in the book they discuss how anxiety and panic attacks cause your heart to race, and it can sometimes lead EKGs to show abnormalities or irregular heart beats. But if the Drs believe there is nothing wrong with you physically, then there is no cause for concern. You just need to figure out how to manage your stress better. Try seeing a therapist, I started seeing one and it has been helping a lot.
Absolutely ... so my guess is what he heard was ectopy... it's like your heart just stops and beats again. That is pure anxiety related ... and could even been stomach related but that's not your problem.
