So I have GAD and I am on xanx. I have been to every specialist known! My cardiologist said my heart is fine, I only had a sonogram and a echo test done at my cardiologist office. I still have heart palpitations almost all day or at least 75% of the day it is freaking me out, I am scared to do anything to get my heart rate up. Does anyone else have palpitations and is already on a anxiety control medicine????
Hi hun, palpatations is my first, middle and last name. I kid you not. I'm also on xanax 0.5 milligrams. I'm not sure you will like my answer and I totally understand why. You don't want to increase your heart rate as you feel it will make your anxiety and the palpatations worse right. If you were to exercise or do some kind of activity which increased your heart rate, you will feel your heart beat faster but its totally different from palpatations. I'm going through a lazy patch at the moment but I can only give you my personal experience. Exercise worked wonders for me because it tires you out. I suffer from Gad also and when I exercise it reduced my anxiety considerably. Also you are using up all your nervous energy. Don't be a afraid doing stuff. Also exercise releases "feel good" endorphins. You'd be amazed at how beneficial it feels. Go for it honey. Message me anytime. Donna xxx
Hi Klove,
What dose Xanax are you on and how often?
I recently went on beta blockers to stop the palpitations and they do work. Have you tried these before?
Sounds like great advice donna. Do you take Xanax everyday?
I think the key as you say is go for it and do things and hopefully the anxiety will reduce as you continue to do more.
Hi I am on 0.5 mg. I have never taken beta blockers. I had a sonogram on my heart and echo test everything looked good, but of course I didn't have palpitations during the visit. They scare me so bad I'm going back to the cardiologist on the 26th because it happens almost all-day everyday.
Hi I do take xanx everyday 0.5mg These palps scare me so bad.
Hi donna23316 glad to hear I am not alone. I have been to the cardiologist had a sonogram and XRay on my heart I also had the echo test done everything checked out good. I do have a small murmur they said nothing to worry about. but these pslos scare me so bad I really want them to go away I feel like something is wrong with me and the doctors just are not seeing it..I am a mess I wanna work out do bad again
Hi honey, sorry for the late reply. The answer to your question is is no. They do not prescribe enough to take everyday anyway. I take them as and when, usually when I feel really bad. Iast resort. They are like gold dust and really help by making me feel a bit calmer. They say you build up a tolerance. Yes I have. But if you met me in the street and I had taken a xanax. You just wouldn't know. It does not make me feel or act "doped" up is just seem normal. It just takes the edge off. I know they say it is benzodiazapines are addictive. But my argument is they are controled by you doctor. You can't take more than you have been given lI can't remember the last time hung around street corners trying
to score some! They are so addictive!
