Hey guys, so I'm a 30 year old female, healthy weight, no health problems aside from anxiety and panic attacks. A couple years ago I got diagnosed after having panic attacks, chest pains, palpitations, etc. I got put on 10 mg citalopram and .5mg lorazepam. I had bloodwork and an EKG, saw more than one doctor, and they all said I'm healthy and it's anxiety. I was good for a long time- my panic attacks reduced, the chest pain and palpitations were rarer. This past week and a half however, I've been having heart palpitations throughout the day every day. It's the kind where your heart misses a beat, then beats extra hard for the next one to make up for it. I haven't had other symptoms, but it's concerning me. I have respiratory sinus arrhythmia as well, which I've read is a sign of a healthy heart but it's enough of a distance between exhaling and inhaling that I notice it very easily and it concerns me. I am seeing the doctor at the end of the month, but I'm worried that I will need care before then. Is it still just anxiety? My dad's side of the family has had heart issues so it doesn't help my anxiety. Does anyone else deal with this?

my palpitations were bad for a while then went a way for a few months… now theyre back.
That’s reassuring. I know most of the time it’s benign, but with it happening so much it makes me fear something is wrong. Anxiety is terrifying. 
That’s really frustrating. I try to tell myself that if it went away and came back, it must not be an actual heart issue and is more about anxiety or maybe even things like not drinking enough or having a proper diet. I hope they stop for you again soon!

I’m not on any meds but I was until Oct last year. Dec last year the palpitations started. Then Jan I was getting palpitations and skipping beats. Thought it was anxiety back but then happened Monday twice. So scared

so sorry you are going thru this! four years ago I had the same symptoms heart related like chest pain or tighttness , shortness of breathe palpitations did multiple holter monitor event monitor ekg blood work heart ultrasound ct scan and all were clear! i was taking sertaline and feling much better! now im back feeling bad, very scared chest pain,numbness in arms and legs palpitations hot flush in my chest and shoulder! been in ER three times ekg blood work are normal! im back on sertaline 4th week but i dont feel any better! very worried ! 30 years old otherwise healthy

I’m the exact same.. I have had ongoing palpitations - racing heart, skipping beats, fluttering, tightness in my chest.
I have had several EKG’s, blood tests, Echo ultrasound. Yet I still worry all day everyday that something is wrong.
You are not alone.
I am 2 weeks into sertaline so hopefully things improve soon.
I’m sorry you have to go through this too, but its good to know we aren’t alone. Surely if many of us have the same issues but get the same results, it isn’t anything actually dangerous or harmful. It is so hard to deal with though. Hopefully kne day
