I’m here At the ER. I was awaken up my this heart palpitations at 430 am and I just can’t calm it down so it is 9:30 and still having them . This is the second time in 3 months I’m having this. I’m afraid to work out . I’m 4 Days from getting my period so I’m not sure if this all menopause relate. I’m scare
I'm not sure if it it the same thing, but I suffer with SVT and have done for about 7 years. I am 51 now so believe it started when I started perimenopuse. How old are you? How fast is your hear rate?
Hi almee, most people get heart palpations I'm one of them it races pounds flip flop and flutter, when it does it feels horrible..they usual go and come, I remember the very first time I had one it woke me out of sleep and was racing and I had shooting pain to the head it was scary then now 8 years on no sign of disappearing yet..but they are normal you will be fine.
They will probably give you xanax. Take magnesium every day
Im 47. And it start a month ago at work.
My heart rate was 130 when i woke up and stay and came down to 124, 115, and was like that and I’m in the ER still waiting to the blood work. Yes is like I felt like I was working out in my sleep it freak me out and I suffer from ansiety that’s didn’t help. I’ll keep you post it
I taken Ativan when need it but I don’t take. I will go and pursache Magnesium today
Aimee, I got this too in the beginning. It got to the point where I was taking my bp and heart rate every morning because my heart was going so fast. It was always over 100, and I could never figure out why that would be when I just wake up. Used to get dizzy when working out too. So scary.
My heart checked out, as did everything else. I don’t work out, just walk and do some light weights. I haven’t got a year.
The heart stuff is over though. Best to get checked and then chalk it up to another stupidpause symptom. ❤️
Btw, the heart palpitations can also be due to an inflamed/herniated stomach (histus hernia) pushing up against your vagus nerve all in heart region.
Aimee, your going to be fine, I know it's a bit scary...I call out the Ambulance several times, when I first went through peri and I thought I had this and third CT Scan Lol then they ask me if I had Anxiety and at the time had no idea what that was,I was having wonderful time before meno came along so they you are,I'm still here alive and kicking.
I do have a small hiata hernia and I take plotonics . They send me home everything check out fine . I was still felling racing heart. It as high as 133 while sleeping. This is scary .
My blood pressure is normal like a baby and i just got released form the ER everything check out normal . I’m puzzle I though i was gonna die. This is the second time.
I forgot I’m 47 year old female.
What is the best magnesion and I’m worry about interactions w my acid reflux med
I think it depends on the acid reflux meds. I doubt it would interfer. But you should ask the pharmacist. You can also soak your feet in Epsom salt. You will absorb magnesium while you soak your feet.
You take about 300 mg daily.
While takin the meds? I love this forum . I feel alone and now I can relate and I wont feel thay alone. I’m not the only one
Ok I’ll get it first thing in the morning . Thanks for the info . I’ll keep you posted I’m suppose to have the results for the heart monitor
Going through same things as you are. All started with perimenopause about a year and a half ago. Also at the same time i was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism so my hormones are all over the place!! I take 400mg ofMagnesium Glycinate per day (guy at health food store told me it was the one that was most easily absorbed by the body and would not cause stomach problems) so far so good!! I am also on a low dose of Paxil (antidepressant/anxiety med) and that helps a lot too. Palpitations have decreased a lot. Hope you get to feeling better.... the women on this site are AMAZING they are always here to help and make you feel like you are not alone on this insane journey
Magnesium Citrate, between 200 and 400mg daily. Whatever you buy don't get Magnesium Oxide - it doesn't absorb into the body so is pointless!
