Heart palps in middle of chest

Anyone get heart palps in middle of chest?feel like someone is sat on your chest and it goes through to your back? I feel like there's something seriously wrong today. Pain under ribs too

It sounds similar to anxiety symptoms I get, its very involuntary, I sometimes get heart palps and a tight chest when I feel fine mentally, but my body starts to panic. Best thing to do is lay down for a bit and do some deep breathing. if that doesn't help, try rhythmically squeezing your fingertips (across the whole nail) between your thumb and the finger next to it. i find this helps to relax me as im doing deep breathing. Please reply if that doesnt help!

Do u get pains under your ribs too?

Yes, a very sharp pain as I breath in usually. Don't worry too much, keep yourself as calm as possible and it should pass!

I get this all the time and have been diagnosed with anexity 5 weeks ago.

Do u get pain under your ribs when u eat? Or just at all?

Also do u get dizzy?

Yes get pain under my ribs and also under arm pits on side of breasts. I won't know about eating as Iv lost my appetite. I have been on sertraline for 5 weeks waiting for them to kick in.

Yep dizzy, acid reflux, headache, tingling in hands and feet now and again and achy joints. Been back and forth to doctors and everytime they come out with anexity

Have you looked at any self help stuff? like deep breathing and relaxation techniques? They sound stupid but honestly help so much

Feel like there a lump in my throat and also feel like in not here like all spaced out i like to lay in a dark room

yea!!!!today i had wierd things with my chest, shoulder and back when I breath.

Youtube have a lot of relaxation music and soothing voice to help with anexity I listen to it everynight as I'm going to sleep

Disacosiation is common with anxiety disorders too. laying down in a dark room is good but also get some fresh air, that helps with breathing and stuff

I just feel like daylight makes all my symptoms worse. It's horrible but trying to battle through it

It can do, but make sure you fight through it and go outside or you could end up having vitamin d problems because of lack of sunlight. Remember to not push yourself too hard but don't resign yourself to failure. (:

Thank you for your Advice I will deff take it on bored I was fine last week took trips to the shop which is like 5 mins away then Xmas eve went right back down hill again and only feel right led in my bed.

Its fine, don't worry about it. A lot of anxiety disorders just need a lot of work and effort (which is so difficult when you're scared as heck and sad as well) to get used to the daily effects. Just take each day as it comes, don't blame yourself for bad days, and learn some self help techniques that can help. (if you have a wii fit there is a nice deep breathing exercise on that, as well as yoga stuff that can really help if you get jittery)

I  have had them, its the adrenaline because you are anxious.  Do you get breathless as well?

Dear kirsty,

I am sure you are just suffering from anxiety, you might even find that at certain times you heart beats in an irregular manner. Don't worry about this it's just another symptom of anxiety disorder. I feel it in my decending colon, the pain can be anywhere because there is this thing called " refered pain " which means you get some pain or unpleasant sensation in an area away from where the real pain originates.

Your heart beats in an unusual manner because you feel anxious about something but you feel pressure in the centre of your chest. I know this is correct because my GP explained it to me but I still find it very strange.

Stressful situations affect us in all sorts of ways which make us feel more anxious.

The only way to deal with it is to sit down and relax, take some deep breaths, and try to imagine a situation which makes you happy.

We need to reprogram our minds to cope with stressful situations

I hope this helps you in some way

Best regards

robert
