Heart racing / pounding

So today is my first big concert and since yesterday I have been nervous (since I have severe anxiety) anything like that makes me nervous. Since last nice I’ve felt like my heartbeat is fast and it pounds hard and this morning I woke up and again. I’m scared that it’ll stay like that throughout the day and I won’t be able to enjoy the concert sad

Do you perhaps know exactly what causes ur to be anxious?yes it can last for few days if it's enxiety.. To manage my heart rate I bought a watch that trace my heart.i have meds for heart and anxiety. You will be OK. If it continues see your doctor

Avoid spicy food and caffeine products.

Try this breathing exercise, and really put effort into it. I know it's hard when your mind is going a mile a minute, but this exercise works so well for me to slow my heart rate and calm down.

1. Sit with your back straight and your hands in your lap or on your thighs. Close your eyes. While doing this keep the tip of your tongue touching the top of your mouth.

When you inhale – do it through your nose. Exhale through your mouth. Ready?

2. Start inhaling slowly for 4 seconds (count them in your head not out loud). Push out your stomach and fill your lower lungs first. Then the rest of the lungs are filled.

Hold your breath until you count to 7.

Exhale comfortably for 8 seconds.

Try to imagine that all the anxiety is leaving your body while you are exhaling. You are letting it go.

Pause for 2 seconds without inhaling (very important) and do this one more time.

Repeat until you feel your chest pain gone. And it will be!
