Hi there. I'm a 33 year old male. I'm quite fit and lead a healthy lifestyle. I was prescribed 1.25mg of Bisoprolol daily to reduce PVCs which started to get more frequent on exercise. I also had PVI ablation 2 years ago to correct AF which was successful. Since taking the Bisoprolol my resting heart rate has dropped to around 45, I don't have any bad symptoms apart from very slight breathlessness now and again. Before the Bisoprolol, my resting hr was around 57. I also get very cold feet and toes. Is this normal? My GP said it is fine as long as my hr does not drop below 40bpm. Any thoughts on this?
I take 5 mg and my heart rate is generally between 50 - 60 so 45 seems pretty low considering you are hardly taking any, the cold feet and toes, well that's par for the course I'm afraid, 'Heat Holders' (or not too cheap alternatives) socks are good to help with the cold soggy trench foot feeling
Haha, will have to invest in a pair. Doctor took ECG and told me the slow hr is due to being quite fit but I didn't think I was that fit. Just wanted other opinions as stuff like this can be a little unnerving.
Thanks for your reply and I'll get some of the heat holders I think, especially for this time of year at night!
It's true that about fit people having a lower heart rate, lucky you Yeah those (and socks like) are good with the thick fleecy lining,, you can really feel the 'trench foot' in this cold weather Optimum temperature (for me) is 20c otherwise I'm struggling
