It all started with a bad panic attack in February this year, after which I'm weak every day. I went to the cardiologist when I had some chest tightness but he cleared any chances of heart diseases. But I was not convinced and I'm still suffering. He prescribed me 2.5mg nebivolol. I am lightheaded 24/7. I get weird chest pains. Sometimes I get brain zaps. And I get really off the seat when im getting a chest pain . I even used to get some discomfort in the chest. And the worst part is the left arm pain I'm getting since I've googled my symptoms thinking I'm going to get a heart attack. I wake up pretty fresh but as the day gets older, I get weaker and I'm REALLY lightheaded at night. I have a fast heart rate since then, around 90's and it has been like 3 months. Im still scared this might be a heart disorder but everyone is saying that I'm okay because I don't "look" to be sick. Does anyone else also go through this?
I had a period of about 3 months where I was extra anxious and I thought I was having heart issues. I was dizzy all the time, my heart would race, I had chest pains that were so bad it hurt to even laugh sometimes. My left arm started feeling numb and my hands and feet were tingly, so I went and had an EKG and blood work done. Everything came back totally normal, and they told me it was just my anxiety. After I heard that I calmed down a bit, and eventually my anxiety got less and then the symptoms disappeared. I haven't had them since.
If the doctors checked you out and said you're fine, then it is prob stress/anxiety causing the symptoms. And the more you think about it and worry the worse they will be. Do the symptoms go away when you are distracted or sleeping? If so, that's a big sign it isn't anything serious. My Dr said if it were serious it would be constant and it would get worse and worse, it wouldn't come and go or stay the same.
The chest pain is terrifying when you don’t know what it is. What tests did the cardiologist do for you?
I have been having constant chest pains for 3 weeks now. Been to the ER three times, had EKG’s, blood work and stress test. Everything was fine they said.
I’m thinking stress over health anxiety triggered this but it’s hard to accept
Thank you so much for responding! I'm absolutely okay when I wake up in the morning, but as the day goes on, I become weak and lightheaded at night. Even my vision gets affected. The lights look kinda darker lol it's hard to describe
Thank you for responding! I had only done ekg and it read abnormal. But my doctor said im fine . But im still not convinced 😭
Well if it was abnormal , might want to get some Further tests just to rule it out. I’m sure your dr is on top of everything though.
Thank you! Actually im 17 and my parents think nothing can happen to me at this age. Whenever I tell them about my symptoms, they get annoyed. That's the problem. I feel like they don't even want me
Yeah that's a common thing with anxiety also. If you wake up in the morning feeling normal then it is definitely just your anxiety and nothing physically wrong with you!
Im a 28 year old female and I totally understand what you are going through. I developed bad anxiety last year and was constantly fearing heart problems. I had very similar symptoms- chest pain/discomfort, missed/strong heartbeats, feeling like I couldn't breathe, arm pain, back pain, etc. I had chest pain for a week straight more than once. I went to urgent Care twice before I got health insurance, then for a regular doctor after I got health insurance. Blood work came back great. On my second visit the doctor thought he heard a missed beat I was talking about and did an EKG but said it was fine. I got put on 10mg citalopram and my symptoms have greatly lessened. I still few moments when it all comes back and I'm convinced I'm dying again, but I am still here.
If you have gotten tests done and told you were okay, rest assured it likely is anxiety and you will be okay.
